Quick Setup of a Timelapse with Your Fuji Camera

I hope this video has been helpful. Timelapses are a great way to capture a dynamic scene dramatically. I have uploaded a few examples on my channel in the past, and I've included samples in this video. Try to create a timelapse with your camera! The Fuji cameras usually have an "interval timer" function that allows you to automatically shoot photos at a specific interval which you can then combine in a video editing software to create a timelapse.

That was so concise and helpful! You've taken the fear factor of timelapses away for me. I'm definitely going to give it a try now.

I have actually never used this function on a Fuji camera and I’ve had them for years. I’ll definitely be trying this today to see what I can get on mine. Thanks Wes 🤙🏼

Thank You for information. I guess I should reduce the quality of photo to avoid the big weights. Jpeg 4k will be enough

You can't beat the aperture flutter when using Fujinon lenses on Fuji bodies. Amazing to see that they still haven't fixed aperture priority behaviour, where the blades open fully before closing down to the fixed aperture, albeit at a slightly different position between every frame. The resulting flicker is magical, perfect if you're into watching 1930s silent movies 🙄

Will Fujifilm do Holy Grail interval shooting fully automatic in Program (P) mode? I know the Nikon z6 will adjust aperture, shutter speed then ISO once the minimum shutter speed is reached while having interval priority turned on as well as smoothing. Thanks for your help.

Absolutely, great question! Currently, Fujifilm's interval shooting mode doesn't automatically adjust all settings like the Nikon Z6 does. For a fully automatic 'Holy Grail' time-lapse (transitioning smoothly from day to night), you’d typically need to adjust the settings manually or use third-party software that compensates for the changing light conditions. However, Fuji is always updating their features, so there's potential for more automated options in future firmware updates. Thanks for tuning in, and don't forget to subscribe for more updates and tutorials!

@@WesKriesel Thanks for the response. I picked up a new to me low shutter count Nikon z6ii and a Viltrox 16mm f1.8.....now if I can get some clear skies and no marine layer at night I would be ok.

Uh, which software to use for assembling these pics into a video? Capture One doesn't seem to do this.

How about the overheating issue on this cam? Ughhh, i lived in Indonesia where the weather always hot. 45min outdoor using this camera, and it shows temperature indicator. And because the temp is getting higher, the battery drained as well

Bummer! Overheating can definitely be a challenge in hot climates like Indonesia, especially during extended use. Here are a few tips that might help manage the overheating issue: 1. **Avoid Direct Sunlight**: Try to keep the camera in the shade as much as possible when not actively shooting. 2. **Limit High-Intensity Functions**: Shooting in 4K or using continuous shooting modes can heat the camera up quickly. Limit these functions when you can. 3. **External Power Source**: Using an external power source instead of relying solely on the battery can sometimes help reduce heat buildup. 4. **Take Breaks**: Give your camera some time to cool down periodically, especially during long shooting sessions. I hope these suggestions help you manage the heat better and keep your shoots going smoothly!
