The small screw must be tightened exactly in position at the level of fitting into the upper handle. Tightening as shown in the video is incorrect and there is permanent overpressure in the fork

Thanks for this. I’m sure you’re right. Where I closed the screw was only a few centimetres from the correct height but I’ll release & retighten the screw to get the trapped volume of air correct. Thanks again 👍 (While I’m at it, I’ll do the same on the other fork leg too. To make sure they’re balanced.)

Hi, very helpful video. Please could you tell me what size KNIPEX Pliers did you use. Were they the KNIPEX 86 01 250mm or KNIPEX 86 01 300mm ones. Thanks in advance. Regards, Jon

Really pleased if the video helps. I used two sizes of Knipex Plier Wrenches - the 150 & 250. The 250 on the fork leg. These tools seem to have got much more expensive recently but I still love them & use the 150 size, in particular, all the time 👍

@@jonconradtv by the way, I keep a dedicated 150 plier wrench + a set of torx keys with my bike all the time. Useful when a mirror gets knocked & needs to be tightened , for example. All the best 🙂

What is the red rubber tape around your break fluid reservoir?

@@tonydanev1847 485cc of 10W fork oil. This is the BMW spec & I measured it in with a measuring cylinder
