Ella Vaday is the ultimate finale flub. From having a great verse on the Rumix, to delivering one of the worst runways of the season, barely wearing make-up and not knowing the words to the lip-sync 😭

I know this is like eighty years too late, but I want to talk about the butterflies. Short anecdote: I went to a big event that heavily advertised a butterfly release for children. At 8pm. I'll tell you the end in a second. What this group failed to research, and it seems Asia may have missed this point as well, but butterflies are diurnal. This means they're only awake during the day. If Asia released those butterflies after 6pm or so, they weren't going to fly. Also, buying butterflies in that manner means the cuties are refridgerated in order to keep them asleep. We know that Ru likes the Werkroom at a chilly temp; if the theater was cold, that would be another reason why the reveal fell flat. Pun intended. Oh, the end of my story: The place that did the butterfly release planned it on a cold summer night after it had been raining. There was also a notable bat population in the immediate area. So children opened these envelopes to release them, and they fell on the ground or flew around disoriented. Then the bats came and ate ALL OF THEM. The moral? Don't work with live butterflies unless you're willing to, I don't know, look them up in Wikipedia so you have a basic grasp on their circadian rythm, for starters.

@@krisismav I still laugh about it. This group also made a very big deal about planting a tree in the same property, but they chose a kind of tree that needed a specific kind of habitat. This place did not. So this big, symbolic tree planting ended with the land owner having to tear the whole thing up after it died about a month later. Again, do your research?

I’ve heard over the years, several times actually, people pointing out that the theater was too cold for the butterflies (just like you said), but this is the first I’m hearing anything about the time of day effecting them. But it does make total sense! Especially the combination of the two seeing how it was such a disaster.

There's also The Lady Camden in the Season 14 finale. During her final lip-sync against Willow, she tried to repeat her trip-and-fall-into-a-wig-reveal trick, but her wig came off weirdly and her crown got stuck. Many attribute that as a key reason why she lost the finale against Willow.

The issue with Ella is she openly admitted after, she didn't rush to get the finale dress taken in and fixed - due to her almost convincing herself she wouldn't be in the finale so it wasn't as pressing and important (this was still during UK lockdown restrictions at the time she was getting ready to film)

I love how Mera manages to bring up Trinity's AS4 verse in EVERY VIDEO😂It will be like "Top 10 International Lipsync Assassins" and Mera's like "I HATE THAT 1! 2! 3! 4!" i love it sm

Watching Ella Viday on that finale song made me SO SAD. She looked so out of it, wasn’t smiling when the focus wasn’t on her. Clearly she was going through something and she was really walking into that song with the win if she could’ve been on her game but you could just tell her mine wasn’t in it. Has she ever been asked about that in an interview? Edit: can you tell I didn’t finish the video before commenting?

One other thing about ROSÉ during the Season 13 finale is, similar to Ella Vaday, didn’t she sustain some kind of injury before the finale? I think she hurt her ankle, and thus couldn’t move as quickly or as well as she could before. Also with it being a Lip-Sync For The Crown format, with her against Kandy, one of the lip-sync assassins of the season, and ROSÉ had lost both lip-syncs she competed in, she was practically doomed from the start.

I think ya'll hit the nail on the head with the list, the only other person I would have included would be Sara Forever, cause even though her performance was good, her final runway and that final lipsync were just not at the level she'd ben delivering all season.

I still find it WILD how blessed I am to live in a country where healthcare isn't an issue and is govt funded. There were times where I thought Elektra should’ve been in the top (or even won) and there were times where certain queens were in the top or won that made no sense. Which is why that season is arguably the worst one.

That’s just not true, also because in DRIT Priscilla doesn’t take the decisions by herself but the entire panel does. I don’t know why production fu**ed up su much Elecktra’s storyline, but if Farida didn’t win that’s because of two major factors: - she came across as highly unlikeable (especially to the Italian audience that was way more pro-Elecktra than the international one) - she did flop the finale I’m really not the biggest fan of Priscilla but this hate train and constant blaming her for every problem that the season had is exhausting.

On Shea on S9: one more thing though is the NUDE LIP! Why would you wear a nude lip when you know it's a lipsync tournament! Sasha's beautiful crisp red lip was amazing and really highlighted every little mouth detail, which just didn't happen for Shea.

Now hold up.... Shea F*cking Coulee did NOT flub the finale AT ALL. She just didn't have a reveal. She relied on pure talent and entertainment. I was already pissed when I saw the thumbnail for this clip but I waited to see what the commentary was before I responded.

Bags was checked out during the water advertising challenge imo. If you remember that was where she started going off about not learning the lip sync. I think the standouts flubs for me were Asia, Ella, Katya (for AS2 - just the runway and final lip sync though), Rosé. I don't consider it a flub if its something the Queen had previously shown they weren't great at like Mik and lip syncing I'm surprised you mentioned Gigi. I don't think she flubbed at all, she did well but Jaida just did better. As for her fashion and music video choices - Gigi was a very referential queen all season, it was a very big part of her drag.

Just some things I thought of as I watched the video. The girls on season 1 always said Rebecca was rude or fake but Bob the drag queen has said many times that Rebecca couldn't speak any English until a couple years before the show and I think she deserves some grace seing how knowing how to speak language and being able to fully understand tone and how you are coming off are completely different things. Shea had ruveals planned but her luggage was lost and had to rush for a basic outfit. Ella Vday had an ankle injury and she wasn't confident in her final gown as it wasn't done being tailored.

I adored Gigi's 'Take On Me' video.

I honestly think if a queen is injured before a finale like Rose or Ella, they should postpone it. It just doesn't feel fair to have them work SO hard all season and then not be able to give their all due to no fault of their own. I know some people are going to say it's not fair on the competitors, but don't you want to know you've beaten the best when they're at the very top of their game and not end up thinking 'If she wasn't hurt, she might have beaten me',

I mean beyond having more wins, Marina's Snatch Game and Rusical performances were stellar and I felt she only lost those challenges to some of the best performances of that year.

The lack of research and behind the scenes information is making it hard to watch at some points :( Everyone at the 9 Finale was told to bring a finale, Shea's broke. She came prepared but could not wear so she pulled out that shiny leather look. Her family had a massive rock of tragedy. She did'nt -flub- the finale. She was beaten down and the other girls were stronger that day. Imagine your Shea, this shit goes down and then rose petals fall. Don't report that she just did'nt try for Scarlet to like a puppet/parrot be like; "Ye. Ye I agree Myra" and then move on.

I don't think using live bugs or animals is really appropriate in any lipsync tbh
