Having rewatched recently for the 1st time in about 20 years, while still good it has aged quite a lot. I'd say the best thing about the film is the Queen sound track.

Brian also wrote Gimme the Prize for the Highlander movie, John wrote One Day of Love, Freddie wrote Princes of the Universe, and Roger wrote A Kind of Magic. The movie is about immortals fighting over the centuries until there is only one left. The people they love grow old and die. That is what this song refers to, that he must go on while the woman he loves has grown old and died, leaving him devastated

Freddie Mercury the frontman would not exist without Brian, Roger and John. Queen is all of them and their combined love for music...for greatness!

Not really darling. Freddie the frontman had build Queen from the remains of Brian's and Roger's band Queen wouldnt exist without Freddie's vision The only you got right is that without one of them they are not Queen.

This is Brian's song and they gave credit for it and his signing Freddie said himself it's the four of them that make the sound Freddie wouldn't have had the same success with ibex,smile wouldnt have gone much further without changing the way Freddie suggested But if Tim was able to be more of a performer I still dont think they would have reached close to what they did with Freddie As good as Brian can sing he couldn't have brought the same level as Freddie did They always make the effort to credit all of them but obviously it's going to be Freddie that stands out because of his singing and performance but his singing makes you feel the emotion of the song

Brian May also built his own guitar...and to top it all off he is an astrophysicist. Genius doesn't even begin to describe this man's talent.

On top of Brian being such an awesome musician (also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!), he's also an Astrophysicist... Boy's got skills!

I saw that movie back in the 80's and and bought the soundtrack on c tape the very next week 😊

Another hugely emotional piece by Queen, recorded shortly before Freddy's death, is "The Show Must Go On". Their songs are on a highest tier, where they can switch between being your favorite depending on situation and mood.

They were both such fans of each other and she always talked about him afterwards with such love and admiration. Pity he didn't live to peform it with her at the Olympics, but the show with the recording was grant anyway.

Such an amazing song for Highlander when he lost all his loves as they grew old and died while he lived 1000 years. Right after the song was released, a 12 year old girl had it played at her funeral and I believe Brian heard about it, he was truly touched. Can you imagine how THAT must have felt? This song always gave me chills, both the lyrics and vocals!!

If you want to hear Freddie at his absolute best you need to watch the video for Barcelona where he duets with a world class opera singer and matches her singing note for note. You will never hear anything like it again. This was the opening for the Barcelona 1992 Olympics. They had recorded it a few years previously but Freddie had sadly passed away the year before. Both vocals are God given.

Happy New Year you two! This is such a great song, and although it resonates with Freddie’s situation later on, it was actually written for the movie Highlander, a movie about an immortal man. Queen wrote the whole soundtrack (I believe. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong) including Princes of the Universe and Its a Kind of Magic, and there are many others. But back to this song which is a favourite, for the live version if you do one, my vote is for Budapest. Freddie’s charisma is off the charts. He’s gorgeous! Love your new set too btw

Bringing Brian in to sing the two softer parts was so well judged, and the transitions between Brian and Freddie were seamless. Pity it faded out before the last line though.
