Queen and Freddie were on a level beyond most anything that was being produced at the time , and have not been equaled since. The best way I can describe them is "They were to Rock-Pop music what Mozart was to Classical.Phenomenal writing, stunning stage presentation, stellar next level vocals , and Virtuoso musicianship. I grew up playing guitar in the 70's , and I know from my experiences that Queen were the measure of excellence that every musician of most genres strived to reach musically. I know the words are banded about FAR too often in today's age of questionable talent, overnight internet superstardom , and electronically enhanced mediocre singers. But GENIUS truly applies to these guys in every way !

He puts his heart and soul into every song. Then offstage a shy, quiet man. It's just amazing.

This song is perfectly sound balanced. Every instrument , including Freddie's vocal instrument, has its moment to shine. I love the back and forth between Freddie on keys and Brian's Red Special. They way they counterpoint each other is genius!

Early Queen has an almost fairytale quality for me. I’ve loved them since I was a child and my older sister had their vinyl records.

I get your idea but this song was recorded 8-10 years before the Bon Jovi band was formed so perhaps Bon Jovi is another band who took some cues from Queen. I love this song, it is so smooth and that instrumental portion is such a rush, the only thing missing is that the cameraman neglected to show us Brian who was absolutely shredding it on guitar, they were fixated on Freddie's piano. Brian wrote this beautiful and outstanding song. Thank you for reacting to it.

@@JeffreyHackReacts agree, wish they showed more of the band, I saw an interview with Roger Daltery of The Who he said he remembered watching Queen early on and admitted that there was something about Freddie, just could not take your eyes of of him - maybe the same for the camera man recording this for a live broadcast.

I’ve never heard another band come anywhere close to Queen in variety, quality and talent. Not even close and I’ve seen and watched/heard thousands. Queen is just genius because Freddie had an incredible voice and was backed by 3 Genius professional musicians,2 who were able to harmonize with him.also all 4 members wrote at least 3 hit songs. Freddie wrote 10.

How four very talented people make sutch a beutiful sound is beyond words There will never be a band this good ever again

Yes, as usual a masterpiece by Queen. I think all the special sounds we hear were a combination of an amp invented by John Deacon and the special guitar built by Brian and his father. And this is one of Queen's specialties - the instruments and the vocal blends so well that make every song so special.!!!!!

Queen was long before Bon Jovi. They didn't do vocal mixing during live performances back then, also, kid.

Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song. It just transports one to another world. Notice the wings on Freddie's heels. The Roman God, Winged Mercury, Messenger of the Gods. Freddie knew his mythology. He knew what he was doing. Everything has meaning.

The mid 70's Freddie was at his top vocal performance. Live sometimes even better than on record.

Total eargasm as Queen does at times. Lots of beautiful songs from them. Keep reacting. Cerebral and artistic. Perfection. Btw Freddie designed the costumes and logo for the band. He was an all around artist. Check out March of the Black Queen. It took me about 3 time’s listening to it before I finally heard all the genius in it. It’s a musician’s song for sure.

Hello Jeff - This song reminds me of a Tolkien world “the White Queen walks and the night grows pale. stars of lovingness in her hair heeding unheard pleading word so sad my eyes she cannot see ..... “ OMG Brian wrote this song about unrequited love in college. Gorgeous gorgeous song!! One of my favorites!! The official video is fantastic it’s part of a 3-song transition meant to be heard together .... PROCESSION/FATHER TO SON/WHITE QUEEN. One of my favorite Queen songs. Written by Dr Brian May and put into outer space by Freddie. My only tiny complaint is that they don’t show more of Brian while he’s absolutely shredding!

Of course....bon jovi takes some vibes from Queen...like many others bands....no bad to be influenced by TBBF...and my darling Freddie unmatchable !!!!💞💯💥💫

He intros the song with a toast. Just magical....all around. The amazing thing is Freddie could deliver that kind of performance with any kind of song, and even when the words weren’t his own. As in this case, “unrequited love,” a la Dr Brian May.

Interesting what you said about Bon Jovi. So many rock bands of the 80s say that Queen were a big influence. Even Michael Jackson. This Hammersmith 1975 concert was a standout, so was the Rainbow 1974. Stone Cold Crazy and Big Spender/Modern Times Rock and Roll Live at the Rainbow 1974 were Queen at their heavy rock best. To hear Roger Taylor's angelic backing vocals react to In the Lap of the Gods(not the revisited version)Live at the Rainbow 1974. Great reaction!

So I am listening to your QUEEN reactions TO HEAR YOUR COMMENTS. As an old “70’s chick” we obviously didn’t have social media and we related to our peers through music - we would sit around and listen to friends albums and talk about the music. FM DJs used to give comments on the radio as well. If I want to hear the song I’ll go to Spotify or put on the album. So comments appreciated - even when you’re really wrong! ♥️. When QUEEN started out they were very different from their other prog rock peers in that they really carefully thought out and planned each aspect of their live shows - which made them the BEST LIVE BAND EVER. Early on they either all wore white or black. Freddie’s costume in this performance even had the wings on his pants - as Mercury was the winged messenger of the gods - Freddy took on that persona on stage as well as the name. I like to think of him and his talent as a messenger from the God. If you like this you can see the two concerts performed a few months apart on KZread. A reaction to one or both (I like the second because it included songs from the album QUEEN II - the best album) would be amazing. And your comments as a musician would be appreciated! ❤

Bon Jovi didn't exist in 1975

It was a Dr Brian May song he wrote it about something that had gone on in his life,don't forget that the whole group have written the songs on around 15 Queen albums and also for other people and their solo careers,being Freddie,Brian and Roger,John Deacon never went the solo route,and the Red Special is something that Dr Brian May built with his dad around 1963 which is how they accomplish some of the sounds,all very technical minded,and Brian built that into his Guitar which was actually made from items around the home

As stated below....don't think Queen ever took any que's from Bon Jovi. Long before Bon Jovi's time. I Like Bon Jovi but love queen. Difference in quality of music of the two bands is on two different planets.
