Queen - Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke (Live at the Rainbow 1974) Queen Live Montage

Музыка

Do you love QUEEN? Check out my channel!
Here's the only available live recording of Fairy Feller's Master Stroke.
This Live Montage uses video from 19/20th November 1974 and audio from 31th March 1974 (which was unfortunately pitch-corrected).
This Queen live recording was released in 2014 as Queen - Live at the Rainbow '74.
Rumours says that there was a improvisation version of this song, performed in 1975, when someone from the audience shouted for it.
Queen Live Montage is my own idea of making compilations. It's similar to videos like "Queen Through The Years", but not exactly. Those videos are usually quite random, poorly edited with multiple audio sources etc.
My Queen Live Montages series is different - it uses only one audio source per video, I don't mix videos with different aspect ratios. The idea is to make a CONSISTENT and aesthetic compilations by using best available video feeds. And - the most important point - to show the most interesting moments and the best angles.

Ommggg this voice 0:27 🥵🥵😍it’s amazing how Freddie’s voice changed trough the years, it became “rougher ” with the cig and of course ‘cause he grow up. His voice in the late years was very very powerful, but even in the early stages like here in 74, he already had a beautiful, angelic voice, very « young » voice. He was a genius and a true artist, I think that even people who are not queen stan can admit it. 🤩🤩

Abby Dreher actually this song has only been pitch corrected, since this was not on the original planned release (which featured 8 songs from the show) they didn’t overdub it, in conclusion, the audio is 100% live, but QP decided to pitch correct it. most of the ovedubs were also removed from the rest of the show and all flubs were adjusted digitally.

Sciadi abby dreher yeah I also learnt afterwards that this gig is hugely overdubbed. There’s a video on KZread which compares the original vs the overdubbed version ! It’s a shame that most of Queen live albums are like that because without anything Freddie’s voice is amazing. That’s why I usually listen to their live performances via bootlegs on gregsynthbootlegs channel for exemple the quality is often not very good but nothing is corrected and not any part of the show is cropped !!

What I love about this particular performance is that you just get the three voices harmonising together without any double/triple tracking which they did on their albums. They sound so great with just Roger on the higher line, Freddie middle and Brian on the lower. I’m a particular fan of unedited harmonising voices which is why I love the Beatles and especially the Eagles. I heard this for the first time and got such chills, brought a huge smile to my face. God Save Queen.

"The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke" was only sung in the first concert in the Rainbow Theatre. This concert was recorded partially and the video of this song doesn't exist. The second, this time, was recorded completlly. If my capacity for read lips works I would say that the material that we see in the video is "Killer Queen", also of the second concert. Likewise you did a great work with the synchronization and the other things. Pd: If you see something wrong, sorry, I doesn't speak english, I writed this with the little I know

Very awesome. Nothing like early Queen. I remember first buying Queen II in the military on vinyl and getting it REAL cheap (maybe 3 dollars) having never heard it before. Musicianship at its finest. They were obviously at their peak music wise and I HIGHLY recommend any casual fan to pony up and buy Queen II as it is above the cut in SO many ways with harmonizing and every band member brings so much to the table with each and every track. Just a masterpiece.

An entire subcategory of metal arose in the neoclassical genre. The Who were the first to do a rock opera (Tommy); which was a collection of rock songs telling a coherent story.
