Queen Elizabeth II and Her Military.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II speak movingly of her Armed Forces and her Armed Forces speak as movingly of Queen Elizabeth.
The footage is from the BBC's coverage of the first Royal Legion Festival of Remembrance, led by King Charles III, after the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
I'm sharing this because I was struck by the mutual respect and gratitude the armed forces and Her Majesty had for one another. It's something I knew but the BBC do such a brilliant and moving (teary eyed for me!) job of highlighting this that I thought others, who did not have chance to see the original broadcast, might appreciate too.
It's also because I respectfully believe that the courage and willingness to serve others is something that should be recognised and honoured.
That's why I would encourage you to listen and watch (perhaps with a hanky handy and in private!) the stories of:
Stan Ford, a Royal Navy sailor, sunk but rescued in World War 2
John Nicol, a RAF navigator , shot down and imprisoned, as Prisoner of War (POW), in the first Gulf War but eventually freed.
Staff Sergeant Felicia Watkinson, who is currently serving in the British Army and was recently awarded an MBE.
The final reason is just in some small way a huge thank you to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and all of the men and women who have bravely served in the UK and CommonWealth Forces, for their service.
