I don't know if you ever played it, but there was an old DOS game with some bangers. jazz jackrabbit specifically one of the boss fights, i think it's called guardian. it's dying for a metal cover for an old sonic the hedgehog rip off, it had some good music to it

Depends on the track. Some may take a little time, literally if you have a clear idea of what the final result should sound like. Some take longer when there is a need to experiment and make a few versions. So yeah, it varies.
