Quadratec Stealth Light Bar for the Jeep JL and JT
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
When I was looking for a light bar option for Shadow Trooper (my 2020 Jeep JLU), I did not want a huge bar above the windshield. This is because external light bars can create wind noise on the road, and draws attention in parking lots (yes I daily Shadow Trooper). Then I stumbled across the Quadratec Stealth LED Light Bar, and started to look for reviews on KZread. Only found a handful and not all of them were helpful, so I decided to purchase this light bar anyway. I'm glad that I did and very happy with it so far. I hope that this video helps you if you are looking at this light bar.

That was the first thing i was looking for when this video started. I've been on the same boat as Brad - a stealth light bar that doesn't attract attention but is functional. Thanks for the review Brad, will definitely be looking into this for my Ram.

Humm.....🤔yours must be different than mine my 2020 Rubicon has a surround around the rear view mirror...ant it goes all the way to the windshield...i would have to have a 2 piece light bar in order for it to work.

Ahhhh, I do not have the adaptive cruise control. So I do not have that part around my rear view mirror, only windshield. My light bar is one continuous piece.

I'm just amazed, how almost no light bled into the cab or bounced off the hood. My biggest gripe against current light bars is all that stray light stealing your night vision from seeing what they light up.

I’m impressed. Looks fantastic. I had lights on my roof rack and it lit up my hood and I did not like it. I can see yours does not do that....impressive. I like that it’s not subject to weather and thieves.

Would the reflection of the light bounce off the windshield and cause some blindness? I owned a turbo car, and the gauge pod would make seeing out at night a pain.
@1oldskoolluvr
3 жыл бұрын
@@moro1112 if you heard Brad during his review, he mentioned that he still wanted to add some weather strip to the edge (at the windshield) to completely seal off light bleeding through. As for the gauge pod lighting in your car, drop down the bulb wattage you're using, and maybe go back to old skool bulbs if you're using LED bulbs (the light emitted is less "harsh").
Yep...I'm sold. I appreciate the upload; there are definitely not many out there. I'm a big fan of the stealth options for the same reasons you mentioned.

I'm pleasantly surprised with how much light it actually gave out, nice video mate. Cheers
Super clean install, nice that there isn't any glare in the cab/interior.
Impressive with how little back scatter you’re getting from the windshield and hood. One of the first things I usually notice about a light bar demonstration is the crazy amount of light that other light bars throw in the drivers face. It also won’t create clearance issues driving into parking decks. Also, this isn’t going to add wind noise which is nice if you have a clean roof.
Amazing results, thanks for the post I never knew this existed. Don't have to worry about it being stolen off your vehicle.
Very nice! Thanks for posting this. I love how stealthy it is. There’s a lot of people like yourself who want to have the extra light, but don’t want to draw unnecessary attention to our vehicles when we aren’t on the trail. This light bar is perfect for such people. 👍🏻
This is the video I wanted to see. You showed me everything I wanted to see before buying this light bar. Thanks for the video 💯👍

I installed this on my Jeep Gladiator I love it! only thing with mine is I have an eyebrow tint that severely dampens the light output. after seeing this video I think I'm going to go home and rip that tint off 😅😅
I'd like that for my 4Runner!!
Looks nice, like the comment that you don't want to draw attention to your jeep.....though its a Rubicon with a snorkel, that in its self would draw attention, especially for those of us that own a wrangler. I understand the whistling of the light bar. There are ways around this, but I note that my limb risers also cause a whistle to a degree.
I want on for my truck now. 👍
I love it! Very nicely hidden

What a brilliant mod...
If you've not fitted anything to stop the light bouncing off the windscreen. You really don't need to. There's barely any glare. Looks good man
I need this now. For my Escalade I wasn’t tome but don’t want my wind noise
Quadratech, let's get this in the Rene!!
great idea...but some time the beauty of the light bar is to be outseid.. but the inner light bar is a good idea to protect it against thiefs
This would work on my current JL. The one I have on order has the advanced safety options that adds a box behind the rearview mirror for adaptive cruise control and brake assist. I would rather not have that option but is part of the package. 2 smaller ones that could mount inside would be cool.

Would love to get something like that for my 78 f150.
Your ride is nice. How do the drivers in front of you feel? Do they see a lot of light in their rear view mirror?
Whats it look like with mud on the windshield?
PERFECT for those MALL CRAWLERS
That or the long term affects of the heat on the windows tint 🤔not trying to sound negative or anything just usually think of mutable senireos

@@BradKoester do they make them for other trucks besides jeeps?
@BradKoester
3 жыл бұрын
I believe that that only make them for the Jeep JL, JT, and JK.
There cool, for someone who needs to have that look, but I'm not out there to win any beauty contest. May be okay in tight squirly trails, but not for running in the desert with prolonged straightaways. The beam seemed very wide and significantly overlaped the existing lights. Overhead lights should have good reach. I would love to seen a side by side comparison with a set of KC or Diode Dynamics. I tilt my overhead lights up slightly to prevent them from dumping a lot of light close up. A lot of light close up blinds you from seeing farther out, the headlights are in the grill for that. The window tint must have a significant effect on actual lumens.
That's pretty awesome actually... Unless you're really tall but other than that two thumbs up
Very sharp! Would love to see a tour of your vehicle if you're up for that sometime...

Want that for my Power Wagon!
maybe an odd question. I love the lightbar and im not into the whole mad max vibe of jeeps, i like it clean and pretty factory and useful. strictly beach and dont like doing things while its under warranty. so, think it would run off accessory outlet and skipped the hardwire harness?
@BradKoester
3 жыл бұрын
This light bar I think would have no issues running off an accessory outlet - like the Jeep factory accessory switches or any aftermarket switches. Actually, the stock switches also include a extra un-switched connection that you can use for this too. Would just need to modify the included harness. This is what I like about the light bar, I could remove it tomorrow and there would be no extra holes and such, it uses existing bolts to attach to.
I need one for my dodge ram please, regular roof light bars look like tiaras
How much back washback from windshield on the inside? I'm a firefighter/emt and I know interior windshield lights give you spill/washback from windshield without good tight covers and seals to the windshield.
@BradKoester

It is completely against the windshield. I also added some extra weather stripping along the windshield. So far no glare or flashback.

It's pretty tight, was just thinking if u were knock on wood.. in a front coalition would it stay pinned down or come flying at your head
@BradKoester

It has 4 bolts holding it up there - fairly sturdy.
Looks good and easy to use. I was concerned you’d have reflected light inside the cab, or light up the glass like a neon light. How hard was it to adjust the light angle and can it be readjusted now you’ve filled (didn’t hear the term you used) around the edges?
@BradKoester
3 жыл бұрын
No adjusting required. I only needed to apply some additional weather stripping along the bottom along the windshield. With that, there is no more light ‘flashing back’ into the cab.
This is the one piece bar correct? I know they have a other that is split between the rear view mirror. Is there a reason you pick this over that? I've been looking at them for some time and havent decided which version.
@BradKoester
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have the one piece version. The two piece version is for the JL/JT’s that have the adaptive cruise control (which is right behind the review mirror).
Can those fit in cars?

Thanks for the review. I just purchased mine. Going to install it. What kind of weather stripping did you use? Can you adjust the seal on the light bar so there is no light bouncing back into the inside?
@BradKoester
2 жыл бұрын
I tried to adjust the seal and while it was better, it did not solve the issue. Here is the weather stripping that I used: www.lowes.com/pd/Frost-King-17-ft-x-3-8-in-Black-Rubber-Foam-Window-Weatherstrip-2-Pack/50235609 - I marked on the windshield where the light bar hits the windshield, then dropped the windshield and applied the weather stripping to the windshield on the line that I made. Now there is no light bouncing back in to the Jeep. I have another video that I posted that shows it in use posted on my channel. Hope it works well for you!

Hello!! With that lightbar installed... ist possible to fold down the wind shield without any problem?
@BradKoester
3 жыл бұрын
The windshield still folds down, and the light bar still works when the windshield is lowered.
Did you add the weatherstripping underneath the light bar or wrap it around the edge of the light bar where the small bit of weatherstripping already is?
@BradKoester
3 жыл бұрын
I applied the weather stripping directly to the windshield (the stripping had adhesive on it). The weather stripping is sandwiched between the windshield and the light bar’s weather stripping. This has made a tight seal and have used it many times in the dark and no light leaks through anymore.
Just reminded me I need a new uwharrie permit😂
