The goldfish I had for 5 years would come to the side of the tank when I came home flick the gravel off the glass if I took too long coming over. Also did the gravel flipping when it was passed feeding time. He loved belly rubs as well.

i have 3 massive Koi in a huge pond tank in my basement while i build my back yard (which will include a ridiculous 2000 gallon pond), and i love feeding them. the biggest one, about 14 inches, is silky white with almost no scales on him. he's smooth like a shark, and has some random black scales on his smooth skin. i have a dark grey one that is similar, but with more scales. they are stunningly beautiful. i also have a deep orange one that as he ages gets more and more black scales. i recently built a massive filter system for their pond tank, and the water is so clear you can see the black one against a black tank. they seem to like it, they're very active. i feel the tank is too small (about 220 gallons) for their size, but until i get their pond put in, it's all i can manage for them! i want something much larger, but my situation as a disabled vet suing the vet people really restricts my income.

(when i had a massive leg surgery, 2 months in bed with no walking, my cat left my bed for no more than 10 minutes in 18 hours. she ate and pooped in that time, and the rest of the time i was drugged to sleep, so i don't know. but when i was awake, she was right next to me in bed, something she doesnt do normally. she knew i was hurt, and she wanted to be there to see if she could help. no dog has ever done that for me or anyone in my family for over 4 generations.)

Regarding one of the QI topics: My dad would occasionally take snuff, way back in the 1980s... Never saw him take it that often, just very occasionally! He smoked cigars often though, but he stopped those around 1995 (he was 46yo then). I couldn't stand the smell of cigars at the time, even though I'd already started smoking cigarettes for a year by then (I was 16 in 1995). Anyway, I've never actually tried snuff at all, ever! I presume there must still be a tin of snuff in my dad's old (Victorian) office bureau cabinet. That's where I last saw the stuff (about 25/30 years ago!), he's been dead six years, and no one's touched his stuff even now! So yeah, I guess I'm going to have a look for that soon! LoL! 😄 But yeah, I never got the chance to actually try snuff. Never really understood the reason as to why you'd *want* to inhale powdered tobacco!? Is it still available? 🤷‍♂ I presume so...? My dad worked for a UK supplier of tobacco, a firm called 'Gallaghers', mainly dealt with Benson & Hedges and Silk Cut (amongst about 30-40 other brands, that curiously all came from the same manufacturer!). So I used to get free cigarettes during my teens! My dad was like, "If you're *_going_* to smoke, you may as well smoke the brands I sell!" Really though, all I know is that his employer had AMAZING benefits, private healthcare up to half a million quid, amazing pension payout, and other bonuses... When he died, his pension was then transferred to my mum! Which NEVER happens these days! Anyway, I'm waffling off on a tangent or two, so I'll leave it here! Sorry! 🙂

Ok, right off the bat there's a bit of an issue there. There may not have been a specific law explicitly prohibiting slavery until very recently, but there didn't need to be. The judiciary had already concluded that slavery was a direct contradiction of fundamental human rights, and therefore it could not possibly be legal unless Parliament made a law explicitly allowing and regulating it. Interestingly, that court case was in 1772, right before the colonial slaveholders in the colonies astroturfed the commoners into fighting for 'freedom' and 'liberty' (oh, the irony...).

There are only seven known versus to that song, and I counted round the table, and I was number eight, so I racked my brain. upside down with a major color shift, that's how you know the fish is probably gone. if their color is still pretty close to normal, it's most likely a swim bladder infection. restrict feeding, slightly raise the water temp (helps with digestion and increasing metabolism), and they usually recover. in some severe cases, vets will actually "milk" the fish to help re-inflate the bladder so they can swim upright. basically what happens is their gut gets so full, they cant inflate their swim bladder with air (a balloon inside their body, keeps the top part pointing up, like the opposite of a ship's ballast). by getting them to poo a bunch, it empties their bodies out, so they can properly inflate their swim bladder again, and remain upright.

The organs that are harvested are every organ that a body has, there is no benefit to the smugglers in keeping the donor alive, often they don’t even use anaesthesia before the surgery, just cut the organs out. It is a world wide issue, the first world countries just as much as third world countries. Ie thousands of people go missing in America every year. Best thing to do is look it up for yourself!

I mean, recently, I’ve come to like specific, individual dogs, and I love seeing dogs in the street/park or being goofy in videos online, but in general I find dogs pretty exhausting and gross/smelly compared to cats. A lot of people do a bad job of socializing and training theirs, and they have the capacity to be very destructive. I think if you’re forced to be around/live with this kind of dog, it’s very easy to come to dislike them.

I drive diesels the reasons are mainly 1. Fuel efficiency - Drive VW’s 2 litre engines in both my cars. 170 BHP. The difference in fuel consumption is almost 2:3 compared to an equal petrol cars. 2. Torque. You have a low rpm torque that are so nice. Makes your ride smooth. 3. Lower revs makes the ride smooth and silent. In 50 mph you get annoyed by tire and wind noice When it comes down to economics the big win is the mileage you get out of your car. My old car (A Passat CC and a beauty to look at). Still runs on first drive chain. First motor. First gearbox. After 200.000 miles. My new car - A VW Tiguan - a small 4x4 SUV made out of same platform as Golf/Jetta The maintenance cost is equal to a petrol car during service. But still it is all mileage you get out of your car that makes it a piggy bank.

Fun fact: if German police observes you doing senseless driving, such as 3 times around a roundabout, you will be fined for it. They're generally very relaxed, at least in Bavaria, and will more often than not let you off with just a warning if you behave decently, instead of handcuffs and/or a fine.

Plus a great way of describing location relay to one another ie."im near the large bush with the pink flowers". But also in describing where a potential predator is, and what it looks like.

they are aggressive towards some other breeds, however, and can out-hunt them for food. koi, a breed of carp, are natural scavengers, so if the tank gets hard-core cleaned by a new introduction of active koi, they will kill the others through starvation. they aren't "attacking" the other fish, but they are attacking their source of survival. especially if the owner of the tank wasnt aware of the new introduction of fish, the feeding they gave would have been far less than what was needed to sustain the tanks new occupancy. simple math. feed for 9 fish when 16 are in there.......

I've come to the conclusion that the klaxon is actually what ruins QI. The whole concept itself is about always getting a "gotcha" moment for wrong answers, but when your every panel show episode is trying to trick the players, you start basing around potential wrong answers and it becomes less about finding good and interesting facts and verifying their authenticity and more about trying to find questions that suit your aims to set off that loud, annoying buzzer. It's not the *sole* problem, and mostly it's just bad research, but it certainly feels like it contributes to the problem at the least.

It's backed by the crown and we renamed it alimony and lifetime alimony.

This is what shows do to deflect criticism. They hire minorities so that anyone who dislikes the show can be cast as a bigot and any attempt to discuss why it's not as good can be ignored on the grounds that it's just hateful. Ironically, minorities used to be hired in media because the boundaries had been broken and we could look for talent in more than just the white-male population. Then people realised that they could get away with making lazy drivel by shielding themselves from all critique with tokens.

Also if you ever bothered to educate yourself and read a book instead of shooting up hoods (see I made a joke too!) you'd know that Alan Davies is correct. There were plenty slaves who ran back to their masters. So either your issue is with Alan saying a fact or you are a black man without any struggle using other black people's experience from over a century ago for his own.
