Great idea with the silicone pad. I need to try it. I have the ankle footies but they make make my feet feel really tight and painful in my skates. I like the adidas dri-fit running socks, as they prevent rubbing and excessive sweating.

I used to do the same but I noticed that my feet get sweaty faster if I use them as a fist layer, now I use a very thin sock then the footies then either a long runners sock or an skater sock and my feet stay dryer longer. I’m in the UK and weather helps a little bit but I think I got particularly sweaty feet hahah.

The Rollerblade brand socks are nice, but run a bit small. My feet are a US9.5/EU42.5, the size I have runs to 42, and feel very tight. FR has a VERY nice skate sock, IMO much nicer than RB's socks. My feet aren't in-between sizes like they are with RB's socks. For those watching, the red/black socks are FR's socks, and I own a couple pairs of them. New synthetic fibers are very slick, and prevent blisters. I highly recommend specialized skating socks. I used to use cheap hockey socks off amazon, they are terrible for anything that requires a tight fit. The weave was cutting into my skin, and the embroidered hockey sticks on the back could possibly cause a blister in some boots (it did with my new non-skating work boots, surprisingly).

The black socks here are actually very thin (15 denier) ankle 'pop socks' which are the material that thin tights are made from, just shorter. Thank you for the wonderful advice! I have got a line of blisters along my inner calves and had been wondering why... Would it be because I tied my skates too tight? I had socks longer than the cuffs of the boots with leggings but still don't understand why I am still getting them...

Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. Maybe, but that's hard to say without seeing you. Anything going back and forth can cause blisters, including socks and rocking ankles. Laces must be tied up and buckles adjusted properly. It should feel pretty solid but not uncomfortable. As Asha said, silicon pieces can help fixing gaps.

If they are super snug then I'd recommend a super thin (5-10 denier) tights/stockings sock. I wear these and they are super super thin, see-through socks usually worn by women with office/high heeled shoes. But I now know many male skaters using them. This will help prevent any rubbing and make it a bit more comfortable than being barefoot which often results in blusters. Try that. Let me know how it goes....

Hi Asha, I from the Philippines. I know that this is out of topic. What can you say about inline skating being hazardous to the public? Our city was banning us from parks even in the evening where there are no people around aside from my fellow skaters practicing. Banned that we can be imprisoned for up to 10 days if caught on the 3rd offense. Thank you!

  • @SkatefreshVideos

Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. Sorry about that situation. Asha and I share the same opinion about that subject and it's this: skating is not hazardous to the public in any manner, as long as skaters are responsible, respectful, and care about others. The same applies to other activities such as cycling, skateboarding, riding scooters, even running. If government in your city decided a ban then there must be a reason, and every city in the world has its rules. I'd suggest though to have a talk with the authorities, a group of skaters meeting the municipal mayor, for example, because they are just probably worried about accidents or something, and it makes sense. But this is an urban sport and skaters need an area, if you can assure them to be out of trouble and they can get you a specific area to skate without worries, then both parties could be satisfied.

I watch your videos in english and in portuguese, but my english is not so good to explain what I want, then a will write in portuguese, ok?! Eles me explicaram tudo errado. Comprei o patins errado no tamanho errado.

Oi. Sou o Sergio do Team Skatefresh. A palavra é "wrist guards."
