It has been said that what distinguishes the great is not so much IQ but their ability to recall and remember within context. Thus, the ability to show similarity as well as to make distinctions. That certainly describes Christopher Hitchens. The amazing consideration is the willingness of so many to accept so much less. I must say, one would be hard pressed to find a better clip than this to send someone who does not know of Christopher Hitchens. Or of the role of discourse too.

The interviewer Brian Lamb is fantastic and let’s Hitchens speak and everything Hitchens would say was profound, deeply moving, and so thought provoking. He was a huge influence on me. R.I.P You fantastic man. ♥️

Yet you can't prove the existence of your lord and savior. Yet you call Mr. Hitchens is a liar in your view. Your entire worthless existence is based on blind faith and the unknown. I am just as confident that there isn't a God, as you're in God. It can never be proven, yet you make enemies of people who don't swallow the unproven. What was declared illegal was the British handling of it. Hitchens's mum was not religious, so what does her suicide have to do with anything discussed in this video? It's eerie to hear Christopher Hitchens talk about how he never expected to live this long, very shortly before he became ill. His light is dearly missed in a time of quickly increasing darkness.....

Arguably one of the most eloquent and intelligent men I have ever seen. His grasp of the English language and his vocabulary is unparalleled R.I.P - A wonderful man,

I wanted to say in response to Christopher,people who go to Church don't necessarily go other than to worship the GOD they believe in not to prove anything.I absolutely love listening to Christopher and would enjoy debating with him had he lived.

Damn... when he talked about fatherhood at the start of the interview and how he was not that much involved, but wanted to make up for lost time. That hit hard... Died two years later. I'm sure the children would have had a true friend in him, as adolescents/grown-ups. Remember when I read the sad news about his death, and look... another decade gone. My second child was born April 13th, sharing her birthday with one of the greats. Rest in peace, Christopher.

One of my favorite people. Just sucks he isn't here. I love listening to him speak. This dude was awesome. Life's so short and unfair.

The only thing this man totally underestimated was the enormous impact KZread would have on his legacy.

One of kind. A hero to many, including me. I miss the guy and find myself asking “what would Hitch say to this...” all the time.

He was such a beautifully eloquent speaker. Sadly missed.

He hated thinking and loved lying. The 1LofT states that energy can't be created or destroyed, it can't happen naturally. One aspect of the 2LofT shows that the universe is winding down, usable energy is becoming less usable. It is clear creation had to be done supernaturally yet it is still denied because people are just too proud to accept that, among other things.

When I can find no solace in the issues of the day, or voices currently speaking, Christopher Hitchens always helps me center myself and think clearly again. I miss him terribly, and would be quite pleased if someone came along that could fill even one of his shoes. We need such a person badly.

I wish he was here now, during these uniquely chaotic times. I would very much like to hear what he'd say.

From a very strong field, this is one of my favourite Hitch interviews. It's very direct and honest, whilst feeling incredibly relaxed and dare I say it friendly. Hitch and Lamb clearly had a lot of respect for each other.

This man has had a bigger positive impact on my life than any god ever has or will have. I always knew there was something iffy about religion, being born in a Catholic country didnt help, but it didnt take long for me to see past the lies with the help of this brilliant man.

@The Word Why can't you package your comments? Science is the proof, and if you've _ever_ flown anywhere, you've already accepted that. It has already predicted (using quantum theory) physical constants with incredible precision, and will continue to make such predictions into the far future. Hitchens often openly loathed his interlocutors but you can feel the respect he gives to Brian Lamb, which is returned in kind. Lamb was an honest man with a zero tolerance for bullshit, so he was cut to order to interview Hitchens.

This is the first time I have seen or heard Mr Lamb & you can tell that he is a quality interviewer & that Hitch respected & seemingly liked him.

Hitchens said he admired Obama's command of English when it comes to his writing. I can't imagine paying someone a higher compliment, considering the source.

Hitchens is fascinating. This is one of the best interviews with this insightful man!

I still don't think I've fully come to terms with Hitchens' passing. Sam Harris said it all - "The man had more wit, style and substance than a few civilizations I could name." I often wonder what he would think about the prominent issues of today, like Pope Francis, for example, who so many are fawning over right now. We need more razor sharp contrarian thinkers like Hitch in the public square today.

A beautiful mind has left us and no other man has been so influential in my thinking and liberation.

A great interview where we get to know Hitch a little more personally. Tragic that he was diagnosed with terminal cancer after this interview, particularly as he expressed the wish to go on forever. Although he went from living his best life to dying his best death and through the legacy of his various media, he will in a sense live forever. Bravo Hitch......

That we are able to pick out any old interview for review, any time, on a whim and for free is one of the best uses of the internet. Thumbs up for youtube.

I absolutely loved this man. I could listen to him all day. I found him fascinating, intelligent, would have loved to have him sitting at my dinner table discussing whatever we choose to talk about. He is sadly missed. ❤

Thank you for your honesty after all these years! Thank you especially for your support for Cyprus.

I miss this man so much today. Christopher gifted many with insight, courage, and the patience to observe the world through a different lens - all while imbuing the future with curiosity. If he were here today, there is no doubt in my mind that he would act as a herald of knowledge and free speech, and adamantly condemn our fallacious descent toward Trump-era fascism, non-science, and racism. He left us too soon.

It took so many centuries for a very honest and frank person to stand up and say what is what and how highly organized and institutionalized religions takes everybody for a ride!. Hats off to him and let his tribe GROW!!!

It's a damn good thing he wrote that book then. He died not too long after it was published.
