I'm no psychologist, but this just seems like typical narcissism to me that's offloaded on 'mental health' whenever it backfires. If he recognizes that it's mental health, and knows it's destroying the relationships around him, perhaps he should talk to a Therapist or Psychologist and address it. This is most certainly a pattern in his behavior, and what we are as Humans is but a sum of our patterns.

Streamers leech off of the baked-and-done content that is the MSQ (let's be real here, you dont need to do much for people to watch your MSQ stream) and then fall in a hole because they cant produce worthwhile content themselves. I think he just takes even the most innocent statements as negative. Chatters will ask him a question to get him to clarify his points sometimes so as to avoid confusion and he gets pissed. I can only assume he hasn't really thought out his opinions or he just assumes people are always against him.

The only streamers I know who I think will keep most of their viewcount after they catch up with the story are Grinding Gear. They do like one or two patches a month (unless its a .0) and all the other time they stream it's extremes, other expansion content, etc. When they do extremes (always blind, min ilvl, no echo) their viewership is basically the same as when they're doing the MSQ (around 2-4K.) Relatively small channel with under 30K subs but with a very, very dedicated base.

I just began watching their content and as a crusty ff14 vet from the 2.3 era I really appreciate GG's approach to tackle basically every ounce of content they can absorb. Their dungeon walls are actually pretty all encompassing including a majority of the optional ARR dungeons I love but newer players never see or do these days.

Recently found them over a month ago. One of my absolute favorite FFXIV streamers right now. I think with the way they are pacing the content, they will be done 6.5 by the time 7.0 comes around. So they should be good for a while. Really enjoy their content. They are a channel where they are doing everything right, in my opinion. I am eagerly awaiting their 5.5 stream. I will continue to watch their channel long after they finish FFXIV.

Rich would sort of reach a lul and say "okay guys, add break time. get a drink. we'll resume in 5 minutes!". when pyro was advised he could do that better his response? "well they should subscribe"

@@Nelogenazea Can't say I ever cared about it enough to properly look into it, so take this with a grain of salt: afaik Ginger made some videos with fairly controversial opinions on some aspects of FFXIV and what changes he'd like to see, and when most of his viewers didn't agree with him he pretty much just lost it. He went on week-long tirades against the game and the community until he finally decided to quit the game and play New World. From what I've seen he's basically a slightly more stable version of Pyro

His lore videos were always bad though. Mostly wild speculation and nonsense. He only got some traction because wow lore is wild nonsense.

I'd advise caution with Ginger Prime too. He quit FFXIV at one point over criticism at him as well, and tried to gaslight the community with some bullshit "Eorzea defense force". Then he started to constantly emphasise how his stand up comedy was way better than his FFXIV and his internet life altogether. Him and Pyro are two cheeks of the same ass.

You’re spreading some misinformation here. He left because he was essentially tired of the FFXIV content cycle (including gearing) and not having anything that he wanted to do in game. He constantly mentioned wanting more sandbox elements in the game and that for a while it’s the story that been keeping him coming back to the game. With EW being the natural ending the big primal arc he said that it felt like a good place to step away. And so he did.

Bruh, it's all coming out of his ass. The entire video was filled with jabs at Pyro maliciously while Ginger kept acting like he was taking the high road and sending nothing but well wishes Pyro's way. The entire tone of the video was passive aggressive as fuck and it's sickening. If he had just went the route that Xeno did and said he doesn't like Pyro and here's why and said it with his chest, the video would have been much better. Also all the fucking random ass misspellings of other content creators names, idk if he didn't proof read his voice to text program or if that was his attempt at humor. Either way, my take away is this guy is a master at being passive aggressive and those people are some of the worst in my eyes. He chose the perfect timing to come out with a video like this to join in on the dogpile on Pyro and didn't even show any proof that Pyro threatened him to sue. Basically, he was an ungrateful slob irl who took advantage of his girlfriend to keep his life functioning while treating her like shit. She eventually made it public and the community pretty much dropped him like a hot potato. As Xeno said, he basically said this was a big wake-up call for him, so he stopped streaming for about a year, started doing social work, got into therapy and so on. For the last...two? tiers or something he's been back to streaming XIV to a small community. I'm not a huge stream watcher in general so I can't say if the positive change he's had by the time he came back to streaming has vanished since, but he actually did change quite a bit during that year off, so I'd say he's actually a positive example of how taking a step back from streaming and getting your personal issues under control CAN be done, but ofc that's assuming the change was permanent.

It doesn't, the man has rage issues, he flies off the handle at the slightest 'provocation' whether it's perceived or literal, it can't be stressed enough that his core problem isn't an inability to focus or being quick on the jump, it's his deep seated anger. He can apologize till the cows come home but at the end of the day until he gets some serious therapy to address his seething anger issues he's not going to be a wholesome entertaining streamer. He'll just be another trainwreck people tune in to watch crash over and over again.

ADHD isn't just the inability to focus. It's also accompanied by extreme impulsiveness, which ties into difficulty controlling your emotional responses. That difficulty with impulse control, especially when unmedicated, can easily result in the kind of rants and meltdowns- "anger issues" is one of first criteria that is used to diagnose the condition, especially in children. However, that does not- in any way- excuse his actions. He needs to work on those things, because it IS possible to learn how to mitigate those impulses and reactions. It's hard, but it's possible- especially with medication. (And I have a feeling that Pyro is unmedicated, because pharmacies are in the middle of a nationwide Adderall shortage at the moment)

@@morsecodex Impulse control does not equate to uncontrollable anger, he's not a child and he has no excuse for his vitriolic angry meltdowns over petty benign shit. Sorry, but no, his ADHD is not an excuse for his rage, he has full access to medical care and he's a fully grown man, he's not a child throwing tantrums.

@@morsecodex Didn't he say during one of his apology videos that he was off his meds? Like, I'm sorry, but then don't stream/do community work during that time. I know it sucks because algorithms like steady engagement and all that, but like, you're an adult, you know your own condition best - manage it appropriately, and that includes staying away from situations you KNOW you can't handle in your current state.

The subtitles on this video are wild, it has to be imported straight from some kind of speech to text transcript without doing any error / quality checking before it was put in to the video. I would've sharted at Asthma Gold had my cheeks not been so puckered up that my ass almost started bending light just out of anticipation of what stupid shit is going to come next out of those subtitles.
