The reason people don't really try to intervene in violence anymore is because they don't want the headline going from "one dead in fatal altercation" to "two dead in fatal altercation" or "one dead and one in critical condition after fatal altercation". Like, in the video what do you think is going to happen? A bystander is gonna Solid Snake CQC a guy with a gun?

We are indeed in a really weird timeline right now. Good Samaritans are disappearing because even when you are protected by the laws, pricks on the internet would try to cancel you if you did something wrong while rendering help. And in the worst case scenario you would get yourself injured or even killed due to the violent escalations without no one else helping you out. In the end if you need to help someone out on the street here in America, chances are you'll have to look and build like Xeno and have some good lawyers backing you up in order to pull it off.
