You also need to add grass and trees. The area was lush with greenery, at the time.

Not necessarily. The surrounding area may have been architecturally landscaped. But there is nothing that suggests that this platue was lush and fertile since it may have been exploited and quarried by gold miners. Egypt became wealthy because of it's abundance of gold.

Alfons Falkhayn Yes she imported foreign fauna into the land, from Punt. That does imply that Egyptian terrain was naturally arid but certainly architecturally landscaped and irrigated so as to produce a fertile looking landscape. I think though, that had that been the case for surrounding Pyramids, archeologists may have found evidence of such. To this day the Giza complex remains a mystery because no one knows what it's real purpose was. It is only presumed to be a funereal complex but no dead were discovered there. Orion constellation means "the golden one". Perhaps the Pyramids housed and secured gold ore. The entire complex looks to be inspired by a conglomeration of gold ingots or maybe it was simply a way of tidying up loose quarried stone waste material from excavated gold mines. Yes I suppose I have to agree that the complex might have been enhanced with landscaping.

@Alfons Falkhayn I am not a teacher or historian. Therefore I feel no obligation to uphold conventional opinions based on what is considered factual evidence. If we are to compare any great ancient civilization of the past to that of now, then we know facts can be contrived in any way to manipulate a society into believing anything. Egos are for the living. There is no time for the dead. Although the history books say the pyramids were built to house the dead, we can assume there was another motive for their construction under the guise of housing the dead, who by the way were buried with all their gold. Was it really the dead being protected? Or was it their gold? Seriously? Who cares about the dead hey?

Great reconstition of necropolis of Giza. The harbours connected to the Nile, the colored sphinx, the valley temple of Khaefre and the red granite on the pyramid of Menkaoure.

А отцифруйте храм царицы Хатшепсут!! Он очень интересный по конфигурации. Причём, я читала что возле него были бассейны для охлаждения помещений внутри дворца.

Where is the vegetation? Every depiction I have seen of ancient egypt shows sand and desert. There must have been trees and flowers, pastures and grain fields and farming with livestock and lakes and rivers! The egyptians must have seen much more than just sand and desert all their lives!

The reason for which the Great Pyramid was built perfectly illustrates the desire and determination of the people to leave a trace of their passage through this life and the construction of the Great Pyramid for the Pharaoh Cheops represents a symbol of eternity! Read the book on the website-ul www.thegreatpyramidofegypt.com in English or Romanian (NO MONEY) and comment on the book , photos with models made of wood and brass board, drawings and sketches commented by the author of the book and logical explanations ?!? motivated by the construction of the Great Pyramid of Egypt. On page 59 is a centralizator with some of the novelties (comment on the 78 news items omitted by Egyptologists and I will send you an autograph book) and assumptions of the authors in the order of their appearance in the pages of the book. Leave a comment if you can! Have a nice day. Hănțulie Ionel
