there's alot more depth to the combat in Elite than I first realised.

I've been watching your fights for coming up on 5 years maybe? You're still hands down the smartest and most skilled pilot I've ever seen in E:D. Fly safe, CMDR. Hudson beware.

Thank you Cmdr. I wish I can tell you that I’ll continue making content. Unfortunately, ED has disappointed me with Odyssey and have retired. I’m sure these videos will remain relevant for the years to come. o7

this was glorious. the music, the impossible odds, strategy, and with so little hull remaining made this very enjoyable. and to top it all off, you killed the biggest fed ship with the smallest imp fighter. its commanders like you that make our faction proud and strong. o7

Actually, my ship will struggle in conflict zones too. It’s specifically designed for 1v1 PvP combat against pilots that are over-confident and oblivious to threats of mines with reverb cascade effects. There’s an endless supply of these type of players. This ship will not survive long in conflict zones. I’ll end up mining friendly ships and they’ll all turn against me. You should give PvP a shot. You’ll be surprised how predictable human players are.

I love iCourier. Though probably no where as a speed courier. More of armor than speed. I kamikaze too much when they fast. I’m already crashing a lot in this video lol

I did one of these builds, two years ago. Took down an Anaconda after much much time. I used an IMP Eagle with racing drives and NPC had a very very hard time keeping me in sight. Mostly I got on their a** and stayed in their kind spot as often as possible and when I stared to lose that I hit boost, be exposed enough for a few scrapes at my shield and back behind them again lol. But if a PA landed on me I was pretty much already taking hull damage. I wouldn’t be able to face another player like that unless they were one of those new overnight Anaconda owners.

I loved it too, until one day, I was the receiving end, and it sounded terrifying!

Man, I got another 3 or so weeks with Hudson until I can get the Pacifier Frags, hope you don't find me before that! Or maybe I hope you do..... Lol nah, I'm a fan of your work, bro. I like to fly around my Cobra MKIII, "The Implication" as a pirate vessel. Small ships are so much fun with the right loadout / pilot.

Corvette fit was "solomode-pve trashcan" (classic 3km range, no hrp, no mrp, no point defence, no even stable damage)", vette pilot was a prawn. it's very lucky for mine bomber*(my mistake) eagle to catch that tasty carebear fed :). Anyway, good fight cmdr

Yeah, fairly squishy. I actually used mines. Not sure if 2 torps could take out his shields though. I think it was evenly matched, especially without chaff on my iEagle

This is actually just a well known new "feature" in Odyssey that happens to literally everyone when they jump to supercruise whether they want it or not. I have no doubt that the synth would have happened if it needed to if the Corvette hadn't jumped away as Na'Qan has plenty of other videos where the fight outlasts his ammo so he just boosts away a bit for a minute to rearm Edit for extra note: if he were trying to exploit it for real, he'd empty the magazine on the racks before every jump because the new "feature" doesn't reload spent shots from partial mags

What are the arming times? Is there a difference beetween Horizons and Odyssey? What can you do if your enemy has point defence turrets?

2 seconds for mines. Zero for missiles. I believe missiles used to have arming distance as to not point blank shot anyone. But you can see on the 3rd interdiction, I shot it point blank, and it dropped my shields / cracked my canopy. If they have point defenses, it will take much longer. I will need to first locate the position of the point defense, and then try to plant mineson the opposite side of it on the ship. It still possibile to get mines and missiles through, the trick is to overwhelm it. if you shoot missiles while laying mines, the PDTs will miss and allow some to get through.

since you fly impeagle i wanted to ask as im just starting with engineering want to try goying full short range beam laser gimball with thermal vent to keep my heat down at all times is it viable for impeagle?

I tried this build before. Mixed results. Except I used Turreted Short Range Beam Laser, Also with thermal vent. The tactic was to fly as evasive as possible, orbiting the target as best as I can, while allowing turrets to maintain fire on target. The problem was that it would take FOREVER to pop the shields. Since it was a race against time. The odds are heavily stacked against the iEagle. There’s a very wide gap between The amount of damage your dealing vs the amount of damage you can absorb before retreating/dying. Therefore, success varied based on how much shields your opponent has. So I opted for cascade mines, since shields generator integrity health is much less than the actual MJ health. It was fun and exciting to fight with turreted beams, and involved exceptional piloting and relying on opponents to make mistakes. On top of that, timing silent running was essential to mitigate damage when they are facing you with all their weapons. I had more success with cascades at dropping shields.

I know this is a bit late, but what do you do if you run into an enemy vessel with point defense systems?

PDS has blind spots. They’re mostly located concentrated on top side of ship, probably to cover during turns, most pilots pitch up, to turn. Pilots rarely install PDS both top and bottom. With you can land mines at closer range, the opponents own hull will block the PDS coverage. Especially when I saturate the immediate area around them with mines, it can’t get all of it. Also when PDS destroys mines, the explosion effect does not negate the cascade effect of mines, it actually helps land more hits. :)

I have just built an Imperial Eagle Wave Scanner Reader ship, no engineering but I cannot resist it, I just have to fight but admittedly not Large Ships. I never use Chaff because I do not believe it works. Good show however.

Based on your user name, I think it’s safe to assume that’s your primary ships the fed corvette, which makes sense why you might think chaff is useless. It’s a big, slow ship, so opponents can usually be close enough to negate the effects of chaff. However, for smaller and more nimble ships, chaff helps it greatly. Small ships cannot take a lot of damage, so any means of mitigating damage will go a very long way in prolonging overall health of the ship. Which means, without chaff on a small ship, only way to minimize damage is silent running ( as seen in this video)

My friends say the smaller ships aren't worth it. Apparently they haven't been your subscriber for the past two years xD

@@CMDRNaQan Agreed. Not to mention, generally faster and more maneuverable. Ngl, your old vids are the reason why I've been grinding out builds for ships like the Viper lines and Eagle. And why I've been trying to make good all rounder builds for my Anaconda.

Exposing my build and tactics to the community puts me at risk, but my sacrifice is for the better good of everyone. (That watches and learns from them)

@@CMDRNaQan don't sell yourself short there, you do pretty decent work past the builds. You know the blind spots, you know the weak spots. Plus I'm not really sure we'd even fight anyways unless I blitzed some random system for fun one day. Only reason why I got my Corvette was completionist stuff, and I barely use it compared to my Anaconda, and when I do get back on PC, that ohhhh so elegant Cutter and Clipper I have If we did match up though, that's gonna be a lot of fun for me personally. Gives me a chance to test things out and learn.

Gotta give credit to the reload bug, but that was some good flying nonetheless

If it’s broken and looks too easy. Please feel free to replicate my build and upload us some e-z wins. Shield meta is broken. Unless you want to see a 45-60minute duel against conventional weapons against max’s out shields, then these builds are not for you.

I tried it, the ship center shifts as maneuver it, kinda misleading as to where the actual center is, the fixed dot doesn’t follow. :(

Pro-tip for bigger ships looking to bounty hunt or pvp/pve. Carry at least one SLF with you and at least two pulse turrets. Why? Small little fuckers like this.

I usually prefer close combat / turn fights, which I did execute in the beginning, but once I realized his weapons were not long range, and he flew straight, it was the only option. Otherwise, if he remained evasive, he could’ve dodge most of those rockets easily at the range I was firing them at.

Damn! Shit hot combat. Once again another Cmdr in a Big Boy Toy thinking they invincible!
