Well Tipper you turned me into a new person! I get so relaxed watching the show, but what I’m talking about is I’m a true blue couch potato, that is until I found Celebrating Appalachia. I made Justin Mitcalfs pickles, 12 quarts! I put up peaches, tomatoes, 10 quarts of each. My sister and I are going to make blueberry and strawberry preserves. My friends can’t get over the new me! I tell them I’m celebrating Appalachia!. My grandmother was a mail order bride from Murray, Kentucky. Do you know where that is? Anyway she married my grandpa after his wife died from a fever. Grandpa had 3 sons and they went on to have 5 more children, my dad being one of them. We went back to Murray one year for a family reunion, it was great and good eating too. Thank you Tipper!!!

He does really enjoy your cooking. My husband and my son really loved my cooking and I enjoyed making them happy. My cooking and Tipper's are very much alike. My ancestors were Scotch Irish. I think it's so lovely that these traditional recipes are still being carried on. Tipper please don't take this this wrong but Matt puts lots of salt on his food before he tastes it. MY husband did the same thing. I stopped putting salt while cooking. His BP started getting high. Now he is getting better. I Use sea ,salt or pink Himalayan salt . ❤ love the garden so much. So beautiful with the herbs and flowers mingled. Y'all work so hard and it shows. I am a popsicle fan. I love the peach ones. They are all good but I do love peach. ❤ I wish that I had some fig preserves and a hot biscuit now. Do you have a good fig preserve recipe??
That pepper jelly looks yummy. I think I'll have to make some this week. Thanks for a fun video, once again. It's so nice to watch you guys. Prayers for Granny and Katie and all of you. God bless us all and God bless America .

I want you to know, that watching your channel reminds me of my childhood. My grandmother and her family came from farm stock and even though I grew up in Texas, a lot of the things you do on this channel, I watched my grandmother do growing up. Thank you for videos. I very much love them.

Love how Corie helps you. I can't wait for my girls to be a whole lot older to enjoy moments like that. Right now it's more of standing over them so they don't cut themselves. Haha Love the pepper jelly. Sounds so good with some cornbread. I think I need me some once the weather cools down here.
The pepper jelly must be so good on cornbread. We are having 70’s weather in Texas. Windows are open, air off. Looking forward to all the holidays watching you all. ❤️

I don't know if you know about this but before frost if you take some of those peppers like cayenne and pull up the whole plant and hang it up side down in your greenhouse and you can dry the peppers in the greenhouse I have used this method sever times works great thanks your friend Bill Garden

I enjoyed watching you gather things from the garden but seeing that okra made me happy as it’s my favorite 😁 Matt’s happy dance for the pepper jelly was a true sign of how delicious it is. I always enjoy visiting with y’all and enjoy the outtakes as well.
You all had a full day. Our garden is pretty much wrapped up. A few peppers left maybe and one watermelon if it makes it. The pepper jelly was Matt approved. It sure looks good. Yall have a blessed night.
Glory be Tipper God certainly blessed y'all with a bounty of Harvest ❤❤❤
Love how Matt goes on about how good it is!!!
Thanks for adding the out takes. I really enjoy em. Blessings to everybody. Cora
I had a wonderful harvest of butternut squash last year, I would love to grow those other squash you grew. Beautiful harvest. Hugs from VA 🙏💜
You had me cracking up with those out takes!!! Thanks for making me giggle right before going to bed. Tipper telling us that “this is a pepper” and Corie saying “Mama!” In the background. For some reason that just had me in tears, or fermenting weights, or Olive and Katie in the background. So funny. Glad I saved watching this one. Made my night.

I have to tell you Tipper I grew some Mississippi pink eye peas this year because you all said you loved them so much. Well I cooked them the other day and my goodness what I got of them were delicious. My 16 year old son ate just about the whole pot that I cooked! I put a small bowl of leftovers in the refrigerator for me to eat later and he got those too. I was so mad lol. I guess I'll be growing those again next year!

Great to hear!
I find growing squashes so satisfying. They can be used in so many dishes and each one has a slightly different flavor. One that I really love is Blue Hubbard squash. I like to make soup out of the flesh in the Fall, and I store it in Mason jars for great winter meals with bacon or country ham.
I had no idea okra plants & flowers are so beautiful!! Thank you Corie for the excellent camera work, & for always pausing on the lovely details.
Looks like Matt is enjoying it a lot !!! I like the recipes you give to us Tipper !!!

Hey Tipper & family, Thanks for sharing . Also for the cooking & persevering video. All our love to Granny she is in our prayers. Much love : from Rhonda Lampe
I love to hear Tipper laugh! She is usually so serious!
I like to make my cornbread into muffins. When I fill them with batter I put a spoonful of pepper jelly in the middle, then fill it up the rest of the way. Now it's hard to eat cornbread without that in the middle. Thanks
WHEW! You All were Busy Today.. I'm Never had a PICKLED Pepper or the Pepper Jelly. Never Saw Purple Orka until this Year! Matt & Corie must have "Come Unfed", they weren't going to share Any Pepper Jelly with You Tipper. 😂 I loved the outakes (bloopers) you shared & the actual "weight " ordeal, & Olive in the background with Katie I FEEL like I've had My Daily Visit Now!! A little humor Sure does a Body Good.. Hope Granny is Doing Well. PRAYERS Continue... GOD BLESS AND LOVE TO ALL..
Everything looks fabulous! Lots of hard work went into all those veggies!
I’m definitely going to try pepper jelly on cornbread. 😋 I enjoyed the outtakes. 😂

loved that ya'll kept the part with the mishap of the filling pepper jars, real life as it usually happens when workin' in the kitchen. i would imagine it's even harder to not mess up when you are talkin' and filming. oh my that pepper jelly I bet is amazing stuff. I am jealous of ya'll cushaw and pepper haul, LOL. Ever since I've been watching I've admired your vintage jars with lids Tipper, especially those gallon ones, and have been hankering for some of my own. They are so hard to find these days. This weekend there's a local estate auction that will some for sale, one is the gallon size with a metal lid that has I think it said Kraft Mayonnaise. Got my fingers crossed they don't go for a fortune. Prayers Granny continues to be well. Loved hearing her sing so beautifully with Paul on Bling Pig.
Did deer get into any garden items? They can do damage as they only take a bite out of each veggie, leaving them all ruined. I salute deer hunters as they keep the population thin so that they don’t get overpopulated. Thanks Matt.

Thanks! This was so helpful. I'm learning how to keep winter squash, etc. without a root cellar.
Hehe Matt was doing the happy dance!!!
The squash are beautiful. I’ve never seen or tasted of a candy roaster, its beautiful. We buy butter nut all the time and alway have roasted over the holidays. I also have never had the red okra only the green and the entire family loves it, even the teenagers. I wish I was there helping gather all that goodness. Yum!
Planted collards hopefully will produce before to cold and saving my summer flower seeds for next year God willing.
