It feels so good to be building and not clearing land.
First of your videos for me.....just wondering why the holes are so big, and why don't you use sonotubes?😮 EDIT: liked & subbed ❤

That's a great question. Because this building will have a unique design and purpose, and a snow load close to 100 pounds per square foot we opted to have our plans reviewed by an engineer. The engineered plans required the holes to be 3 feet wide by 3 feet deep. We were able to rent a 3 foot drill so we opted not to use sonotubes. We had to contend with boulders kicking our drill off target in almost every hole so most of them were larger but we figured that more concrete in native soil will be better than trying to back fill. I also have no idea where I would find 3 foot diameter sonotube or how much it would cost. (bonus fact) the engineer also surprised us by requiring the 6x8 posts for the double trusses.
