What app did you use to design your home?

This may sound odd, but putting the comfort of your child first shows the true character of the parents. I have respect for all your hard work & consider you both to be Home rich.

Thank you SO much for giving a look at your build. The "barndo" online space seems to be luxury homes only and it's really nice to see a well built modest home that's realistic for most people. So much hard work, looks great.

I went the turnkey route and also had (former) Amish company do it. 30x40 (12 ft high) pole barn with insulation/vapor barrier. It was 30K with only a walk in door and a 10 x 10 garage door. Very well built and I couldn't be happier with it. As a bonus they messed up on their calculations and ended up giving me a 6 in concrete floor instead of the standard 4 in. Since it was their mistake they didn't add anything to the cost. Not that I need to put a lift in, but I could if I want. Debt free is the only way to be! Great video!

I just want to say hats off to these parents. Putting your child first goes to show that you are good people. God bless

It used to be fairly common for people to build their own homes, it's like a lost art now. Great job!

Your support system is by far my favorite part. Life in general is extremely expensive. Then your personal time itself is crazy under-appreciated. I'm 50 years old, spent 12 years in prison, been home 8 years and yall are WAYYYYY ahead of everything I've wanted to accomplish.

I just want to say....I love that it's not finished. Just regular folk doing it as you go....that's what it's all about and makes it more real. All the stuff you see is 100% completed so I just love this!

Never apologize. You did a great job. Yes it's still under construction but finish work can be done over time. I am so impressed with your work. We are downsizing again at retirement and I'd really love a smaller polebarn house which is how I found you channel. I'll check back in for an update soon. Well done sir.

Oh, the view is lovely! I also like the wall in the master bedroom. Your son's bathroom works great. Sometimes, mistakes and turn into beautiful things. The cutout behind the toilet works extremely well!

My father built 3 of the four houses we lived in. The fourth and final one was a tear down and rebuild. My father did EVERYTHING himself except for cement pouring and he refused dry wall. I now know why about the dry wall - if I never do that again it will be to soon. Much respect for my father for being able to do that !! My hats off to anyone who can !!

Im a major do it yourself person. Ive been flipping mobile homes after living in them for a few years. My current mobile home i went gung ho and stripped it to the studs and subfloor. All was ok until i had to have back surgery 2 years ago. While i recovered work was at a stand still. I got new windows and hard wood floors in except for the bathroom and the hall way. Which i bought teak off of FB marketplace. I got the flooring very reasonable. Dont wait to long to finish your projects. I have learned the hard way. This last November i had a heart attack.

I'm so glad I ran across this video. My husband and I just inherited my great grandparents property and have bought an old remodeled mobile home to live in there while we save money and build as we go! Loved seeing the progress photos! You guys did a great job!!

Such a young family to have a morgage-free home!!! So smart, talented, and amazing!!!!! Oh, and I LOVE the "oops" part of the bathroom! The tin wall was my favorite feature when you gave me the tour!!! That & the open floor plan!

I so wish I was a close neighbor lol. I would so be the friend that came over and helped you build. We live in a rental and it’s been our dream to own a home but seeing you with yours makes me wanna dive in and help lol. Your home is beautiful and I absolutely love it. The extras can be done over time and make awesome memories while you do it. I love making things it’s a passion for me cutting the wood staining and just making something from scratch that most ppl think is nothing is amazing. I’m excited for you guys!!

When you went in to the hall bathroom and I saw the inset toilet I thought you did that on purpose. It a nice accent and really useful with a shelf. I think your home is beautiful and can’t wait to see the finished video. Good job.

Great job! You guys built a wonderful home and reduced the cost in many ways (kit, saw mill, plans, DIY, etc) U can sleep soundly and not worry about future costs of large mortgages and can focus on the family and friends.

I love how your bathroom mistake turned out I thought you intentionally set your toilet like that! I think it looks great how you built it into the wall and put shelves over the toilet! I’m 68 and we started our home 34 years ago and have done a lot of it as we got the money and we still have to insulate and drywall our garage 😂 and we’ve already had to replace the roof but I wouldn’t have done it any other way but I must say it’s so nice to be almost finished ❤ I especially love your huge porches and large rooms I pray that you have many happy years to enjoy your new home 🏡

Hey guys I just found ur channel. I’m so glad tht I did, I have been wanting to have our home built this way also 👍🏻 I absolutely LOVE the look of them and the fact tht u can do whatever u want inside all with a kit. We live in Ky and right now we live in a mobile home but we have our own land. We was thinking of getting a manufactured home but the prices r completely outrageous right now. I thought we could do it this way, and not have to pay near as much and get exactly what we want. I just wish we knew someone personally tht has done this so we would know where to start. We have an 8 yr old and I think it would be awesome if we did it this way he could also be a part of it. U guys did an awesome job 👍🏻
