when i listened to this song as a little kid, someone told me that it was based off of a true story in which a girl got into an argument with the boy she liked and then that boy drove off in anger and died in a car crash, so i've kinda always seen the song in a darker light like this! only found out that they straight up lied to me very recently lolololol
