Putin’s offensive in Kharkiv could come at great costs | Jerome Starkey

“If Putin is not able to concentrate enough force, then we might see a situation similar to Zaporizhzhia…where there are daily confrontations, some movement on the front lines, but very, very little.”
Russia and Ukraine are stuck in a “stalemate” as Russia makes “slow gains” in Kharkiv, says The Sun’s defence editor Jerome Starkey.

Breaking through the "Stoltenberg Line".....in Bakhmut and Avdeyevka has seen territory gained grow 5 fold. Now with the Kharkov counter probe by 2000 soldiers. Ukrainian reserves in Avdeyevka West region are withdrawing and hurriedly moving to Kharkov. This will see even faster territory gains by Russia in Avdeyevka. As its also already liberated 14 small towns in Kharkov. As for great cost there is no evidence of heavy casualties suffered by Russian troops. A massive softening by artillery fire and aviation was inflicted for three days before the probing platoons went forward achieving significant success.

  • @xxrockraiderxx

    @xxrockraiderxx

    24 күн бұрын

    Err no, that was the Russian edit of said papers. The original papers had it closer to a 5:1 casualty ration in favour of Ukraine. So for every soldier Ukraine was losing, Russia was losing about 5. If you drill down to certain battlefields then it gets better or worse for the Ukrainians but as a whole Russia has varifiably lost more men from this war, even only using open source intelligence. The current ratio has been worse for Ukraine, closer to 3:1 in their favour. What it comes down to is the starting population size difference and the fact that 3:1 in Ukraines favour is still unsustainable for Ukraine due to their smaller starting pool of available manpower.

    Russia is advancing slowly to save lives and has been doing quite successfully. As for Kharkov, numerous Ukrainian soldiers have surrendered, and a number of areas have been captured, and Russia has hit some big targets today. Either way, I don't believe they are going for Kharkov just yet, this could be the barrier zone Russia wanted after repeated attacks on Belgorod, which all failed miserably with big losses.

When in 2 weeks it turns out it was all wrong nobody cares - but the original lies stick in peoples heads. There are some interesting talks on this technique the west uses. We have seen it in Ukraine a lot. Thats what the lies about the Terror attack in moscow was about. About 10 minutes after it happened the western media and politicians all new exactly who did it and they warned Russia. Both were lies, but thats what stuck and of course covered off the fact we were behind it.

    It’s funny how everything done by Russia, is according to Times Radio at great cost, very slow etc. 12 villages captured in 36 hrs is reasonably rapid in my view. Ukraine is done it’s lost you guys need to stop all the hopium …..if this, if that, if the other never going to happen thing. It’s over bar the shouting. Yes it will take a few months but it ends this year I think!

    NATO could not control 3% of Afghanistan capital, Kabul for 20 years. They practically trap themselves in a green zone from were they launch attacks against peasants.

    Russia will liberate Kharkov from Zelensky and the West. Russia will demand Kharkov in any peace deal. Any tinkering will mean the Russian steam roller will continue. Russia will soon demand Kiev as well!
