Putin outlines Russia's terms for Ukraine peace talks

Russian President Vladimir Putin has outlined his conditions for peace talks with Ukraine on Friday. Putin stated that Russia would cease fire and enter peace talks if Ukraine dropped its NATO ambitions and withdrew forces from four Ukrainian regions claimed by Moscow.
He emphasized that the conditions were "very simple" and added, "As soon as Kyiv declares that it is ready for such a decision and begins the actual withdrawal of troops from these regions, as well as officially notifies that they abandon plans to join NATO, an order to cease fire and begin negotiations will immediately follow from our side, literally at the same minute," Putin said.
"If Kyiv and the Western capitals reject it in the same way as before, then, after all, it is their business, they take political and moral responsibility for continuing the bloodshed," Putin added.
However, a Ukrainian presidential aide dismissed Putin's proposal, stating there was "no possibility to find compromise."
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin also commented, "I think, you know, he is not, in my view, in a position to dictate to Ukraine what it must do to pursue peace."

Dear politicians, bloggers, other brain surgeons, war sports commentators, here is an alternative perspective on the Ukrainian conflict we should be discussing RIGHT NOW. It is a golden opportunity for you to make a difference and even have your name decorating the most beautiful and prominent building in all human history! At least it will pop your European audience numbers through the roof, as this line of thoughts relates not only to Ukraine, but also to the very heart of Europe. Here it is. Belgium Scenario. The miracle turnaround from the biggest and deadliest battlefield of Europe into the biggest European parliament. Can it be applied to Ukraine on the World scale? Belgium was referred "battlefield of Europe" because for many years and many armies fighting on its soil (says Wiki). By the same standards, Ukraine is now the "battlefield of the world". Both, Belgium and Ukraine's populations are heavily divided according to the language spoken and identity. Belgium has French and Dutch sides, as Ukraine - pro-Western and pro-Eastern. This is where similarities end. Unlike the new "Ukrainian state language", there is no "Belgium" language for a good reason: Belgians don’t want to step into the Ukrainian trap: Just imagine, that someone in Belgium, be it on the French or the Dutch side revolts, takes over the government, media, business, constitution and labels the opposite side “the occupants”. Those "occupants" get banned their language, their vote, basic rights... physically isolated, targeted by artillery fire, 8 years in a row. Belgium becomes Ukraine. It attracts an "interest" of allied forces, hosts the secret bio-labs, military training facilities, weaponizes itself, establishes France or Netherlands as their constitutional enemy no 1. etc etc down the Ukrainian path. Instead, Belgium has nicely recovered from Europe's biggest nightmare into Europe's very posh meeting and negotiation point, establishing several state languages, incl French and Dutch dialects, even German... to respect its citizens. The same will turn Ukraine from the World's fighting arena into the World's negotiation room. To follow the Belgium Scenario, Ukraine has to build The World'ean Union Parliament and go back to a multi-lingual and multi-cultural system (as it was in 1993). The world authorities will build their own offices in there to coordinate and regulate, run joint projects between East and West. Belgium did this for Europe, Ukraine can do this for the world. Shouldn’t we worry and make a breakthrough in medicine, climate, humanity… Wouldn't it be nice for Ukrainians to host it... Don't they deserve it? It is a decent “way out” for all: Isn't it what Mr Putin would want in exchange for occupied by him Eastern Ukraine? Isn't it what Mr Trump would want in exchange for occupied by NATO Western Ukraine? Isn't it what we ALL want in exchange for WW3. Can we start negotiating on these terms? Just talking about the war is not going to win anything, TALKING ABOUT PEACE WILL DO, you war maggots.

Many German -built building still exist. Beautiful towns and villages were built by Germans. Glorious churches and schools. Volga Germans - look it up. It was wild land never before tilled up soil before the Germans arrived. As a result, the Russians & the Germans both dis-liked the Volga- Germans during the wars later They left Prussia white Russia as part German with Russia flair. The food is best in the world today. People, even regular Germans, will drive for 700 miles on a weekend to eat at a buffet. We ought to learn that - No good deed ever goes unpunished! The story was not openly reported until after 1990's when the records were released by Russia kept in old dusty warehouses. so... i will quote a historic document... "The Spanish-American War, 1898 The Spanish-American War of 1898 ended Spain’s colonial empire in the Western Hemisphere and secured the position of the United States as a Pacific power. U.S. victory in the war produced a peace treaty that compelled the Spanish to relinquish claims on Cuba, and to cede sovereignty over Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines to the United States. The United States also annexed the independent state of Hawaii during the conflict. Thus, the war enabled the United States to establish its predominance in the Caribbean region and to pursue its strategic and economic interests in Asia." So... it is ok for the US to do the same as Putin now but they criticize Putin for doing it ? I do not agree for any country to take over any other country by force, and US Leaders need to stop being such Hypocrites! You need to lead by example! Period. We the Latin Americans have been a subject of Trophy price for the Spaniards and Americans invaders of our territories. So again...all this countries need to stop being such hypocrites...only creating treaties for their own power and gain, not about the regular people that truly deserve the peace and are in the middle of all these power grabbing systems. The usual. Bout all he ever does. The annoying part about all of it is he will never drop the act no matter how nonsensical it is remember this whole thing about it being a "special operation" and it was all goin' according to plan and if you said "war" you were dragged off in cuffs into the back of a van? I guess at some point he must have unofficially given that up. That was the dumbest hill I've seen him double down and die on yet.

@larrymunn5279 Well. If war is declared, you will then see the difference. Right now the goal is capitulation. During war the goal is destruction. It's not a subtle difference.

Russia is in the most critical economical vulnerability its has ever been in because of Putin's illegal terrorist attack on Ukraine. It faces permanent sanctions which now include the most dangerous sanctions Russia will ever face, it blocks the Ruple from being used as currency in China to access weapons or parts of weapons other wise Chines banks will face sanctions. So if anyone trades with the Ruple it will become worthless & this will crush the Russian economy. This is why Putin wants a cease fire. He is absolutely desperate & losing hundreds of billions in military infrastructure, oil & gas trade, international business & so on. Putin has finally realized his illegal war against Ukraine is going to collapse the Russian economy & the Ruple is now sitting at 50 to 200 meaning its only worth 50% of the dollar but the exchange rate for the Ruple is a massive 200. This is a time to keep Russia fighting as long as possible & collapse their economy completely so they can not afford to continue their illegal attacks on their neighbors in the future for hundreds of years while their economy struggles.

"I want the Sudetenland, where our German inhabitants are being persecuted by the Czechoslovakian government, to be annexed. This is my final territorial demand." British Prime Minister Chamberlain naively believed Hitler's words that this was his "final demand" and accepted it for the sake of peace. However, Hitler saw this acceptance as weak, and the following year he annexed Czechoslovakia itself.
