The business laws are so complex that you can't but break some law somewhere. The FSB knows all. That's where the money gravitates to because you have to pay for the patronage. I think it is kind of a weird Russian effect. The people are kept so powerless and relatively poor that they know they kind of have nothing and no way to move up. Because of that they start living vicariously through the state. Any success of "Russiya!" is a success of theirs since they can't have their own success. So then they get proud of having a "strong leader" and any and all minor successes of Russia become legend in their mind and it is what they start living for.

Case No. 144-128 In 1999, Lt. Col. Andrei Zykov, a senior investigator with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, was assigned to probe criminal case No. 144-128, which centered on allegations of corruption and money laundering involving a construction company, Twentieth Trust, and its possible connections to Vladimir Putin, then-Vice Mayor of St. Petersburg. Zykov's investigation uncovered compelling evidence suggesting that Twentieth Trust had received several lucrative city contracts at inflated prices, raising suspicions of corruption. Further investigation revealed that the company had been involved in money laundering activities, potentially channeling proceeds from illegal operations. Concerns escalated when links between Twentieth Trust and Vladimir Putin emerged, prompting allegations of abuse of power. However, despite the substantial evidence collected by Zykov, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office abruptly halted the investigation in 2000, citing insufficient evidence.

So, people do not like having radical views that might offend others. Americans in many areas of the US and British people are similar. A British person would never criticize anyone openly.
