Are you kidding me? They both showed interest in each other at the end. And he kinda perked up with happiness and hope. I think he is just suffering some sadness or depression because of his last marriage or his brother dieing. So he doesn't really expect good things form a relationship so thats why he doesn't even want to try to date her because he only thinks sad thoughts. BUT SHE has hope and likes him so keeps trying and thats why at the end he perks uP :D I honsetly think there is chemistry he just needs to let go of the past.

@@addiej5497 I think they have some differences and he might be right to say no but part of me thinks that he might be thinking so much about not wasting precious time he might miss out on a romantic relationship. He's obviously had at least 2 major losses in his life. The death of a brother and his marriage. Personally I've lost both my parents which was hard but they were older. One of the hardest losses I've had was the death of my friend's daughter who was 15. It was sudden. There is something about the loss of young person and when my marriage ended by mutual agreement I felt like my insides were being pulled out of me. Hopefully he has seen a therapist to work out the loss. In the end he might really had no at first sight attraction.

Please go back to your roots, SoulPancake. I used to love this show. And sometimes (in the inbetween interviews) the focus is not even right, so the person is blured and the background setting is clear.. That's just bad camera work. Hope you get it right soon. It's not fun to watch anymore.

Movies, sitcoms, and reality shows have all used this concept, from The Real World, Survivor, to Big Brother, just to name a few... This is more of a social experiment than them actually trying to match people.

I sat straight up after seeing their postures lol

It’s interesting how many people are obsessed with whether they two walk out on a date at the end, but i think the whole purpose of this exercise is to break down assumptions and by anticipating and discovering the other person, better understand our own selves. It’s not the end that matters, but the process and reflection.

Not saying she isn't attractive, I think she takes very good care of herself... @K Dubbs Looking back at my comment I was very misleading the way I wrote that out, I actually would thumbs it down if I ran into it now haha. I totally agree with what you are saying. I think I meant to say that he shouldn't feel like he should have to settle with a certain girl out of lets say desperation. I don't think any guy should have to, regardless of their looks. Sadly many guys end up doing so because they lack the confidence to believe that they can eventually get what they are looking for. He should have no issue going for these types of girls. Even though she is also attractive and well put together, their personality's don't match and he shouldn't just feel the need to go for her based off her looks. He has a lot going on and can pretty much easily find what he is looking for. Feels a bit condescending saying that but I think that's what I was going for lol. Also now that I have re-watched this video, I think they have more in common than what I perceived the first time. They could have very well been compatible, not sure why I judged it differently before. Maybe it was based off the stupid differences like karaoke and Halloween... I just don't think he was physically attracted to her, which I do think is reasonable and plays a roll when in the dating scene. I don't believe that defines a person. I agree with you on some level but I don't agree that he is that type of asshole that is looking for a fine piece of ass. I genuinely believe that this particular man has some level of class and maturity and experience and is looking for a real relationship and not just a piece of ass to wake up to. There is nothing wrong with looking for a woman that you are physically attracted to. On the same note, everyone is going to have their type of person that they find to be attractive. Being attracted to someone can come in many different forms. It's not all about the looks, but imo there is nothing wrong with wanting to be physically attracted to whoever you are pursuing.

When Ottavio talked about the loss of his brother and you see the emotion come over his eyes in recalling him and the impact of the loss, it really resonated with me. The ‘baggage’ he spoke of is real, because I have it. I lost my sister to a disease that took its toll on her; it’s hard. Even when recollecting a few years later. That part stayed with me in this interview. Ottavio and JJ seem like really nice ppl, I hope they meet someone who makes them feel special and loved. ❤️

I think so many people misinterpret what “superficial” means. It doesn’t mean this blown out of proportion person who’s obsessed with their looks. It means that someone is drawn to appearances rather than reality. That could mean physical looks, money, etc. So he does kind of indicate a bit of hypocrisy here: he says he dislikes people who don’t go beyond appearances (superficial), but then preceded to close himself off and not really open up because he’s not attracted to her right off the bat. Like you said OP, he just shouldn’t say that in the first place. So many people would benefit from embracing that they are in fact shallow in some ways, it’s not bad to not be attracted to someone. It’s bad to deflect and pretend like there’s a possibility when you really just want to say “no.” SoulPancake videos remind me of how difficult talking to people is lol.

He wants to get married and probably would like the option of have children especially within Marraige. Not being superficial doesn't mean having no preferences or nothing that isn't a deal breaker, it just means looks is not the only factor and you are open to getting to know people who may not be physically your preference to see if you are compatible.

Some of that changes as adults get older because many older adults are more open dating someone who isn't our physical favorite or we might date someone who might be someone we wouldn't expect to be attracted to their personality but we are. I guess we care less about the little things and look at the broader picture.

You realize how most women live? They date superficially beautiful men until they're 35, then marry and divorce a rich, average looking man. Now they have money, so they can go back to dating superficially beautiful men. Sounds like a nice life, doesn't it.

I find all of these Tell My Story segments very interesting. It is fascinating to see what causes one person to connect to another beyond the physical. In a way I think we all do this when we meet someone. Snoop around the crevices of their mind to see if there is anything there that binds us. I knew from the onset they weren't going to be a match. It's always in the eyes. The first moment when people meet. An energy.....

I really enjoyed the ability to be interactive with the process and hope you do it again.

This was so fun! Please do it again! But without the intro in the beginning. Put it at the end. It have more of an insight of the blind part

@@byronbaldwyn7330 no, or at least speaking for myself, I can say that since I am Italian and and living in Italy I see a lot of that kind of guys here : they basically look for a girl who's just like their mom, they never learnt to look inside themselves so they want someone who does it for them, in Italy we call them "mammoni". plus, seeing many of them here, I can tell (mostly from experience) that he values looks better than what's inside of a woman because they don't care to look and analyse too much inside themselves in the first place.

I hope they endup being friends for real....They have great values

awe I hope they really do become friends. I think friendship is often undervalued compared to romance, and I don't like it when people say oh yeah let's be friends, but don't actually mean it.
