I have the Tokina 33mm f1.4. It is on my camera now. So far I like what I see. It also came with a magnetic filter.

I'm glad you found this helpful! Unfortunately, I had to send the lenses back to Tokina so I don't have them to do more testing.

I wish there was a fast f1.4 28mm lens or so for the Fuji system. Gives 42mm FF and that is great.

How's the flaring , viltrox had quite bad coating on them which stopped me from buying them. I'm interested in Tokina but flaring will make or break. I shoot video mainly.

I used both Nikon (F3 and FM2) Film and often pared them with Tokina ATX lensed. Vey satisfied and I like the idea that Fujifilm had opened the brand to others. Good value and excellent image quality.

Acually, AFAIK, Viltrox has reverse engineered tge Fuji protocol and Tokina just slapped their label on the Viltrox lenses.

Aren't these just rebadged Viltrox lenses, though?

@@RichardBO9 Lol. No, they aren't. These Tokina lenses are rebadged Viltrox lenses which have been on the market for nearly a year now and which cost less money.

Yes they are. They just added a 150$ Tokina label.

@Filmmaker Did someone drop you on your head when you were a child? Viltrox released their lenses more than a year ago. Tokina rebadged their lenses, not the other way around. You simpleton.

The answer is yes and no. The Viltrox lenses have a USB port for firmware updates. Tokina was given access to Fuji software and is considered factory-supported so they appear to be camera upgradeable for firmware updates. This should provide better focus performance and integration with Eye-AF and other Fuji features.

True, but without weather sealing (I think) and missing the USB-port so firmware updates are out the window. Go with viltrox.

@Filmmaker Can you say something more meaningful than this mindless trolling? Most of the reviews in the Internet are very very positive about quality for money of Viltrox lenses.

@Filmmaker Come on. Please, stop talking rubbish. Tokinas are exactly the same lenses as Viltrox except for the hoising. Are you one of those mesmerized by 'the power of brand"?

Hi Leigh, can I ask why you didn’t mention the identical Viltrox lenses in this video? As someone with a sizeable following it seems to me you have a responsibility to point out that the exact same lenses (albeit with a different brand name and very slight different housing) are available at a significantly cheaper price. I ask as I’m sure there will be people thinking about buying the Tokina lenses after seeing your video who are unaware of the Viltrox ones. Is there a commercial relationship or agreement with Tokina that you didn’t mention is this video? I cannot imagine why else an independent review would not mention the fact that these lenses are identical to another lens available for significantly less.
