At my local CBA branch the que was out the door and across the shopping centre concourse. I have always paid with cash whenever possible. I don't support any cashless businesses at all. Furthermore, when I have told my local trader the reason why I only pay with cash they have been 100% supportive. We have to continue and grow this movement until the grubberment and the globalist corporations get the message.

I bought a few items at a garage sale for $50. I gave him a $50 note. The seller bought some new shoes with that $50 note. The shoe shop owner used the $50 note to buy some groceries. The grocer used the same note to buy a crate of watermelons from a local farmer. The farmer bought $50 worth of fuel for his tractor. The fuel seller bought his children some second-hand school uniforms with the $50. The mother who sold the second-hand uniforms put an extra $50 worth of food on the table for her children, using the $50 note. This continued for a multitude of transactions and every time the $50 was still worth the original $50. Now, using a card, the seller only received $49.90. The next seller only received $49.80. The next only received $49.70 ... this process continued until the whole $50 card payment was swallowed up in bank fees and resulted in $00.00, zero, zilch, nothing, nowt. No wonder banks want to remove cash from society.

Small businesses already tack on EFTPOS fee's when you tap. It's disgusting that they add on the fee after. Only offer cash payments if you're going to do that.

It’s now a norm for us. Went back to cash about 6 months ago. Problem is that our bank (BankWest) has just restricted the amount of cash you can lift. How can this be permitted. It’s my money. Can’t even spend your own cash now. It’s disgraceful.

The problem is not that the Government has this data it is the fact instead of it being compartmentalized that they share it across the different conglomerated portfolios. Once upon a time a department had to protect its data from other departments unless there was a justified reason to release it. This was usually by a court order because there was enough evidence to support it.

The worst thing is that the banks can lend far far more cash than they actually have reserves for. Think fractional reserve lending on steroids. Without the threat of a bank run, What to stop them leveraging a dollar a thousand times?

On Tuesday I had $13000 on me. I didn't take any cash out the bank. I just waited till others did. Tuesday was awesome. The banks made record transaction fees. Thanks Rowan

The link to set up digital ID is already on my gov. How I discovered it I got a message at 3am my gov had sent me a code to complete login to my account I’m certain I did not do that while I slept so glad for the two tiered login. I don’t care how they sell it they have failed before at protecting our personal information. No digital ID for me!

The earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand in 2011 taught us the importance of having cash when the power went down.

We’re already taxed multiple times. I work and pay income tax. Then I take what’s left and make a purchase at a shop where I again pay another tax on goods I’m purchasing with cash that was already taxed on. To get to the shops I drive in a car that needs to be “licensed” each year which is another tax on something I already paid tax on when I bought it. When we add up all the taxes, licence fees, etc. we are probably paying over 60% of our incomes to the governments. It’s bloody robbery is what it is!

My local council wants to introduce higher rates for those of us who don’t have solar panels (starting July 1st, 2024). I have told them I won’t be installing solar panels nor will I be paying their higher rates!! Good luck on them trying to get that money from me. I only use cash as often as possible. Use cash because it stays in the local economy, if you use your card it goes through bank hands and who knows what other corporate criminal hands.

Cashless = mass white collar job loss, automating bookeeping and finaces with AI will then be possible.

During storm events, when the lines are down to the banks.. the last two times, they were out for a combined 8 days...i always have at least 400 hundred on hand at anytime..you have the right to have your own money.. banks treat it like an inconvenience..cash is king.

every time I go to Woolworth 70% of people wait for the cash checkouts , people want to use cash, banks increasing the cost of every transaction, the banks are about making a bigger profit nothing else, we just had good Friday appeal, people collecting they would need to have a mobile atm machine, wouldn't the scamming would take off. will always use cash.

The current government was not elected on such a significant issue related to all Australians. They have no rights to deny a public referendum on this proposal. We the people will always have the overiding power to decide our future. Enough is enough. Australians first, politicians second.

Also told her a lot of business are going cardless and using cash, so expect at he end of the day when a local businessman brings his wads of day cash in, because the card and bank fees for them are going up all the time. Always in cash never in writing

It was when the tap and pay came I started seeing people use less and less cash. I’d say if tap and pay is only for less than $10 and for $10 or more it’s swipe/insert and pin people might get back into using cash more.

I can only imagine what the gov would do if it was a cashless society. Especially if you were accused of something. I've worked for different depts of state and federal branches and there is no way they are infallible.

It's a store of wealth not reliant on the electrical system. When the power goes down it still exsists.
