My mother is from Turkey she recently found out that she and her entire family actually are of Armenian decent and not turkish. Her forefathers have been turkified and became Alevi rather than Sunni, but all happened forcibly. My family is embracing our (newly) found Armenian heritage. Thanks for sharing this lovely song ❤️ Will definitely visit Armenia one day!

Be aware that you are not alone, so many young girls were taken away from their parents and turned into prostitutes and slaves. Do you know Why the country is called Armenia, or Hayastan? It's because long , long ago a tribe from Greece called people of Armen migrated east and settled where later to be known as Keliakia. Over centuries they mixed with the kingdom of Hayastan , named after the finding father King Hayk. Hayastan means Hayk's land. All these took place over 3000 years ago. King Hayek separated from the Persian empire about 3800 years ago. He took his people and went north to the highlands of the Caucasian mountains. He fought the Persians for centuries and survived because he wisely chose the highlands to establish his kingdom. So yes brother, we're very much the same. Yasu 🥂 😊 .

Armenian don’t have any culture not even prophets but simply they manage to survive migrating from Volga river to Kurdish mountain where kings of Kurds converted armenians to be Kurds so time changed when greeks, semetics and iranian came along but these will be always kurdish governor so is Mesopotamia governors. Basically, armenians ofcourse is 100% Kurds but they music also have Semitic culture Iranian music as well arabs. Now they have all the cultures and a country so they more lucky anybody else. Kurds has to agree or had agreements to look after each other but they want they Kurdish mountain back so I’m praying for Kurdish which was not supported by British and America. We hope they will be like Georgia 🇬🇪 and Armenia where Yazidis did fight for armenia over Azerbaijan. ✌️✌️✌️

It’s interesting to find similarities between Armenian and Arabian music. It’s almost it’s twin in style and temper. ❤️

Well, they all live next to each other, the people in the middle East. They are all very similar in their basic attitudes. But also have their own unique qualities.

thank you! everyone always makes it about who made the music first, but every culture has things from other cultures! why does it have to be about politics? i dont like the azeri government and neither do i like the armenian government, but that doesnt affect culture. love from azerbaijan!@@thomasappelflap4433

Peace 🕊️, Brown person, I don't look anything Armanian, found out my DNA over 25% Armenian & Asia Minor. I know I will never be accepted Armenian but these music brings tears 😭, feeling I missing part of my identity.
Well I came here to figure out if System of a Down had any inspiration from Armenian music and culture. Turns out that yes. What a nice music !
Love the armenian culture❤🇩🇿

*_I KNOW_*... right...?! This is *_*SO*_* true there in despite the naysayers - *_I'm looking at you people, who claim that traditional Armenian music doesn't sound like traditional Caucasian (Georgian, Azerbaijani, etc.), Middle Eastern (Turkish/Cypriot Turkish, Persian, Kurdish, native Israeli/Sephardic/Mizrahi Jewish, Arab, Berber, etc.), Balkan (Greek/Greek Cypriot, Albanian/Kosovar, Macedonian, Bulgarian, Bosnian, Serbian, Romanian/Moldovan, etc.), Central Asian (Dagestani, Turkmen, Uzbek, Tajikistani, Kazakh, Uighur, Kirghiz, etc.) and/or South Asian (Afghani, Indian, Pakistani, Punjabi, Balochistani, Bengali, Nepali, Sri Lankan, etc.) musics!_* - in saying that the opposite is true there!!!
Very Nice. Thanks for sharing. 1/8 Armenian but it still counts in my book. Great grandma was from Bitlis. If it wasn’t for her strength and perseverance leaving her country (with her family) as a little girl, I wouldn’t exist.

Hello everyone Do you know the name of the song at 12:30 in the video? And would there be an Armenian to translate it and write it for me :-) 🙏💙
It's sad that many racists are fighting in comments, PLEASE grow up! Is there similarity? Because your land (azerbaijan, turkey or other countries) and armenia are near together! It doesn't mean a nation invented a music from 0 to 100. It's not possible because art is based on inspiration. Nations of Every region in world have similar music.
I grew up with my brother playing his oud and this brings back memories. Thanks Uriel for telling Ra about this, thanks Ra for bringing it to my attention and thanks unknown for uploading this for our enjoyment. King HaZeus Akhbar!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Abba Phos Akhbar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
