Remember charlie, not every breeder runs a puppy mill. Sure there are wonderful animals you can adopt from shelters, but you're not automatically irresponsible for having a purebred dog.

What if nobody wants a regular dog? People can get whatever they want. Either way it goes some people may not want dogs or cats because they are allergic to dog hair or cat hair. So, not all animals will be in a home. People may want a specific kind of pet. Everything needs to be taken into consideration.

It's a beagle they're usually that small when there around 6 to 8 weeks old which is perfectly safe

@@Paineinyourblank actually mom dogs usually stop feeding their babies when they're around 8 weeks old, simply because the puppies have too sharp teeth and feeding becomes increasingly painful for them. Suckling instinct actually never fully cease to exist for dogs. My grandma had a dog who lived 25 years and from time to time still did it, until his last year. Edit2: the suckling instinct's presence is due to separating them a bit (or more than a bit) too soon, you can't really control that with shelter or stray dogs and breeders probably start changing the puppies' diet shortly before the 8 week mark, so they would be ready to adopt at 8 weeks already. I've seen it with many dogs, which obviously doesn't equals to being 100% true for every dog. What I'm saying is it's common.

I remember last year when I got my baby girl Hannah. In 2010 I had lost my chihuahua daisy and had been wanting a girl dog for years. Then one day after I got off work my dad reaches down says there is always something moving down here. There she was a little blue fawn wrinkly pitbull puppy. I was SPEECHLESS I was crying tears of joy I was so happy she is my world and I wouldn't give her up for ANYTHING!

The marine one got me. I hope he's doing okay with his little friend.

So beautiful! And God Bless that veteran with PTSD, a beagle is the best furry friend ever, we consider our 2 as our 2nd & 3rd sons. Dogs are family! 😘

It is my belief that when you lose a pet that in a way they would want the love you gave them to keep being shared after they pass on. Love needs to be shared and there are so many animals who need love.

My parents just adopted a 9 year old German Sheppard from the pound. Severely mistreated, has many ailments. He is RUNNING CIRCLES around their 3 other German Sheppards. These are puppies that are being played with to exhaustion by a old dog who is just so happy to be in a home with treats, toys, and dog friends to play with. It just amazes me how innocent and pure these animals are.

I cried a lot when I got the my best friend as well, my first dog had died and I was really devasted... I still miss him and love with all my heart. But this little girl (shes 8 yo) has been my support and my happiest moments are with her 💗

The guy with PTSD is my favorite! Good luck on your journey. Sending love ur way!

I just knew I shouldn't have watched this. Crying like a baby. Happy to see the faces. May 2 2018 at 4:46am, my beloved 9yo black Lab Gracie screamed out, not yelps, three times and gone. She'd be 10 this month. I got her as a puppy from the maintenance guy. I trained her to pick up my canes or things that dropped in the floor. I have had the canes 5 years so...I swear I hear her, feel the bump against my chair. I need double hip replacements so this is the first time without a dog since 1990. I had four. I miss them all so very much. There doesn't seem to be a place for those grieving the loss of a pet. It was the first time ever having one pass at home. Last November she'd been diagnosed with a tumor in her spleen and heart was 35-55bpm. The vet said he could "put her down"..I HATE that term..but I said no. What if he was wrong? She wasn't in distress. In January she experienced her first snow as we normally don't get snow in the south. She seemed enchanted and didn't want to come in! I got some video and photos. My heart hurts so very much. I'd check her heart rate twice a day, gave her massages, prayed, begging for her not to leave me. I got six more months with her and am grateful. In the past, I had to make the hardest decisions and still question still if they were the right ones. I can say, you should check your local funeral home as this was the first time in doing so. I'll never do it any other way. The presentation was so wonderful. They clipped some hair, she was cremated alone, her cremains were in a sealed bag that was then placed in a black velvet bag trimmed in gold with gold embroidery of The Rainbow Bridge, her paw print on a personalized card and placed in a cloth lined wooden box. The gentleman who took the care of her brought her to me in a large bag like the type from a fancy shop. The cost was less than my vet or the place where the vet sends them and it was all exceptional. PLEASE adopt!

I never thought i could cry so fast...

I've wanted a dog my entire life, my mum was always a cat person and I was brought up from the day I was born with cats (which i loved) They were/are my family but, there was always something about dogs I absolutely desired, having dog you can take with you out and about, like a true best friend. I'm now almost 29 and i have my own place and my own amazing cat but because I have wanted a dog for so long I'm actually scared to go through with it because I'm already dreading the day he/she would leave me. Id love it so much id never want to say goodbye. Also because to me I think people should prepare alot more for animals than they actually do. I want to make sure my dog had the absalute best life i could give it and right now I'm not in a financial situation that would be responsible to own a dog. But I will continue to work towards making my dream day come true. The day I get to rescue my best friend. Until then I'll live vicariously through these lucky lucky people :) I cried like a baby watching this, I'll be a complete wreck the day I rescue my first dog. I seriously can't wait. I'm not a kid person so to me it will be like adopting a child. I just hope our governments sort themselves out so we all survive long enough for me to get the dog!! Anyway. Great video Dodo, I've seen these videos before but it's nice to see them all wrapped up in a lovely package. I hope those people are enjoying their pooches! :) 🌸

You are very wise to not get a dog just because you want one. You are choosing the animals welfare over your own. You will make a very good dog owner when the time comes. And yes loosing them is hard indeed. But the only way to avoid that loss is not to have them in the first place. Then you have missed all they can bring your life in their short life span. Cats are okay, but there is nothing like the love of a dog. Good luck to you and I hope you are able to get a dog soon.

I love that you are taking the completely no selfish route of waiting for the right time. So many people rush out and get a dog and then expect it to sit at home on its own all day while they work. You'll know when the time is right and you will be glad that you waited. It's hard I know, I'm waiting for the right time too! I wish you and your future best friend all the luck and happiness in the world - with some left over for the rest of us. X

To be fair most of them have reason to be gifted to that person One lost her own dog. One was a Vet and having a dog specially a service one greatly help them in their mental problems. One was given to someone who was probably wanted to have a dog for a long time. And the last one is given to an elderly couple and having a dog greatly help their current situation not only a powerful burst of comfortable burst of nostalgia but also remain as a effective way for most people to drive anxiety and depression away

Yeah depends on the circumstances, like if you live with someone and you've owned a dog or they've owned a dog before and you've talked about getting a dog at some point, surprising them with a dog is fine because you know you can look after it and they want one. If it's just a family member who likes dogs and you get one out of the blue then their place might not allow dogs or they work too long out the house etc
