When his Dad and I were getting divorced my youngest kept asking for a puppy. I was adamant that I couldn’t afford it. I wasn’t thinking about how much my youngest child needed something/someone to comfort him, just my financial worries. I was kind of forced into it, but I’ve never been so regretful in having been so damn wrong. My sons dog saved his life. My son just turned 29 and his Belgian Malinois Daisy will 13 in September. It’s the best therapy for anyone, but kids really need this comfort during hard times.

Although these puppies are adorable, most, if not all, are pedigreed dogs. There are so many sweet dogs looking for forever homes in shelters. I've had 5 dogs, all from shelters and they have all been wonderful. Please consider adopting your baby from a shelter!

100% and what kills me is that you can find pure bred breeds in shelters. I adopted last November in Az, a Leonberger mix, but plenty of huskies were at the shelter and GSDs…

And what did you accomplish here? Do you think they went and threw their puppies in the street to run to a shelter? You think a shelter was emptied? I love shelter pets and most of ours have been from the shelter, but people choose what's best for them. You do nothing, but feel good about yourself while doing it. 🙄

I lost my giant baby girl crazy Daisy in August 2019 cause of cancer... We didn't know that she was so sick we just had a normal check up and they found a huge tumor in her milt... The vet said it is no problem cause she could live a normal life without milt... The surgery next day showed a huge amount of tumors in her whole belly area... She said she will have 8-12 weeks left and that with horrible pain... So we had to make our worst decision in our lifes and let her go... Until today I don't get over it there is no day without tears and we are missing her so so much...💔💔💔. But one year later we want to give another dog in need a home filled with love, care, cuddles and all he/she need... So we adopted our gentle good boy Marley a beautiful Border Collie Mix... He was found at a dumpster in Greece and he was in a bad condition... The first days were weird for everyone but when he understood that he is save now and nobody will follow and beat him anymore he still exploded of happyness and all his fears went by 💖💖💖. Honestly it is different with him but that's okay cause he is a different dog... He is a very gentle kind and super smart boy and he enjoys his life now to the fullest ❣️❣️❣️. Daisy will be always our number one she gave us 11 years of unconditional love, fun, empathy and positive emotions that we will never forget... Marley brought fun, love and everything back to us and we learned it is NEVER to late to save and adopt a innocent soul in need... 💝🐾💝🐾💝🐾💝🐾💝🐾💝🐾💝 We love and miss you so much baby girl... Letting you go meant that you took our hearts with you and we were burned out and felt lonely together... You are always in our hearts, minds and souls 💖💔😭😭😭💔💖... We love you to the moon and back...

And if you’re older consider a senior cat or dog. When I volunteered at a shelter I saw senior animals surrendered whose owner had died and the family didn’t want the animal. A lot of times that was the only home the animal had ever had. If you can, give these seniors a loving home for their last years.

In my family growing up. It was tradition that each child got a puppy as soon as the child could walk. So as my dad bred German shepherds for over 30yrs. An there is 13 siblings. Myself included. We ALL got a pup each when we started walking. Luckily our house an garden was massive lol. An I'm not saying it wasn't hectic at times. Yet it was epic, us having a dog each to grow up with. My girl was Tina. She went nearly everwhere with me. She was my best friend. Confidant & partner in crime when we got up to mischief lol. She passed when I was 16 an she was 15. It broke my heart. Yet I treasure every memory I had with her. I went on to marry an had 3 kids of my own. So they each had their own pups as toddlers too. My daughter had shep. A gorgeous Tri colour Rough Collie. My son had a Galaxy. A chocolate an White Siberian Husky. An my last son had Tasha. Long coated German Shepherd. An I watch with pride as the bond between my kids & their dogs grew & flourished. We took our dogs everwhere with us. Day trips. Holidays ect. Dogs teach kids so so much. Compassion. Unwaivering love & faithfulness. An so much more. You just CANT put a price tag on the joys dogs can bring. I still remember my Tina meeting me from school everyday with my brother's dog Muttley. I was so proud having her by my side. My dad had 10 daughters & 3 sons. So giving us all one of his beloved pups. In his eyes it also insured our safety. Which it did. Many times. An my youngest son's dog Tasha not only saved my own Husky Kya from being poisoned by 2 old ladies who had laced dog treats with rat poison. As these 2 old ladies asked to feed my dogs a treat each. Tasha wouldn't let them near us or my then puppy Kya. He hackles were up an she was barking & growling like I'd never seen. An knowing the breed so well. I trusted Tasha's judgement. So I told them NO as Tasha doesn't trust them. 2 weeks later those 2 old ladies were arrested as they had poisoned 8 dogs in total. Sadly 2 had died. Tasha got a big T-bone steak the day I saw it in the papers. An she saved my toddler son from being kidnapped by a Romanian Gypsy couple. Who tried & failed to snatch him over a park. As Tasha got them before they got near my son. We went to a local steak restaurant an we ALL had steaks including all our dogs. Yet Tasha had to have the biggest & best on the menu lol. Treasure your dog's. An they will treasure you back. I'm retired now. An my beloved Kya passed 2yrs ago in July 2021. She was 20yrs old. She was not only my pet. She worked with me rehabilitateing rescue dogs for near 2 decades. She was such an asse. Mothering every rescue that came in. We kept more than we rehomed though lol. Yet I've zero regrets. I just wish our dogs had longer lifespans. Kya lived to 20. As she a no processed food diet. As did ALL our dogs over the decades. As it some of the crap in processed dog foods that caused health issues in millions of dogs. Now people know better. Thankfully.

As long as the person/people responsible for the health and wellbeing of these precious pups have signed off on these gifts I’m absolutely thrilled for them. But a living being with enormous responsibilities and expense should never be given without the express permission of those ultimately responsible! This type of “gift giving” contributes to shelters getting filled with unwanted dogs and that’s not fair to anyone involved!

@@fatooshtkd That is definitely not always the case. My uncle who clearly knows me, my sister, his brother... my dad and his sister-in-law... my mom, incredibly well! We all spent holidays together with the rest of their siblings and children. We all lived in the Dallas, TX suburbs and got together throughout the year for random dinners, birthdays, anniversaries, pool parties, etc. However, it did not stop him from gifting my sister and me a duck one year for Easter, much to our delight and my parents absolute horror and fury. We had two Miniature Schnauzers and the last thing my parents wanted or needed was the expense, hassle and mess of a duck! If you do not know, ducks are cute as can be but also filthy, poopy messes! My grandparents agreed to have one of the offspring of our Miniature Schnauzer mama and loved him beyond everything. Years later after their wonderful dog passed away we kept after my grandparents to get another dog because Hansel was such a joy to everyone. They kept saying no, we respected their decision and did not surprise them with another dog and subsequently they thoroughly enjoyed and could afford their travels in their golden years without the 24/7 responsibilities and expenses of having a pet or having to make special arrangements for a beloved pet when traveling. So the lesson here is, had we not bothered to verify FIRST, my grandparents could have been in an unwanted and unappreciated situation had we surprised them with something WE wanted them to have and ignored what THEY wanted! Had we ignored their wishes it would have been incredibly selfish, inconsiderate and all around poor form! EVERY SINGLE TIME a living being is to be gifted, the responsible parties MUST consent and agree to such a potentially joyful gift or not agree to a potentially resented, too expensive and/or inopportune gift. Others, no matter how well they might know someone, doesn’t mean they know every want, desire or goal a pet may prevent or prolong that want, desire or goal’s fruition! Nobody has the right to change the trajectory of someone else’s goals and dreams just because they want them to have a cute pet! NOBODY! If parents gift a pet to a dependent child then absolutely brilliant, as the parents would generally be the ones ultimately responsible, so clearly they are giving their consent. Most people don’t want a huge responsibility and significant expense at someone else’s whim! Get permission first! You do not have the right to make such huge life decisions for someone else without their consent! These pets are living, sentient beings who deserves a happy, healthy, wanted home environment! It is irresponsible and cruel to not get consent FIRST! It’s all about having consideration and respect for all parties involved, the pets and the potential pet parents! Don’t even get me started on certain breeds might not be appropriate or best suited for all home situations! That’s a whole other issue that should be considered before agreeing to care for a puppy/dog!

If that is the case then the timing is perfect as 2 animals are great companions to each other and it is my belief they will be calmer, not suffer the anxiety that ' Home Alone' dogs can suffer with. Yes, there can be other things to look out for eg:- chew furniture ripping clothes among some displays of stress. Hubby and I didn't have big dogs but But I had 2 and an older cat. We could never have handled big dogs because we were honest about what we were unable to do, like wallies everyday and we were half the days out of the house. Whenever I left the house I would play a CD of classical music. It was my pattern. I first did this when I bought 2 Siamese kittens for my parents'. I played classical music and they were very calm personalities... Mum said they were other then a few things!!. The last dog I had a Chihuahua I was at home mostly. I played Debussy. He was a very sweet nature anyway. The most kind patient and trusting natured creature. Dogs are unbelievably intelligent and funny. We Were blessed to have beatiful beautiful natured creatures and cats are very playful and think a lot. I love these video's. Thank you for posting.

I absolutely do not suggest giving a puppy to someone unless you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they want one. Puppies are a commitment that some people are not ready to undertake, they are not meant to be a toy to be set aside when the new wears off.

Onde estivermos, vamos sentir falta dos amáveis pets e desses sentimentos que afloravam em nossos corações. Não deu tempo para salvar o nosso planeta, nem nossas vidas, essas cenas ficarão APENAS na nossa lembrança.

Rescue pets make some of the most amazing pets. Its like they know their days are numbered & they will spend all their life thanking their new owner. Its such a special bond.

So many dogs literally get killed EVERYDAY for no other reason than over crowding in the shelters. There are so so many amazing dogs waiting for someone to give them their forever home & the love they crave & so deserve. I have 3 sweet beautiful pups that were in the shelter for no other reason than owner neglect. They are so loving & forever grateful they were saved. Please go shop" at the shelter & adopt & save a life. You'll have a wonderful companion who will never forget you saved them.

I cried a lot during this! We love our animals so much and other countries torture and maim them. What a wonderful world for animals if we were all like the people in this video ❤
