Really? This guy shows a great knowledge and learning of what? I mean, he is affable enough for someone who talks casually of sexual assault and battery. He seems more interesting than the boring music he makes... But erudite? You just get a word of the day calendar? Christopher Hitchens, Jaron Lanier, Chomsky... These people are "erudite". I met him and Dino playing at a bar with Hank III about 15 years ago and was pretty drunk. Those guys were the nicest guys I ever met and most tolerant of drunks. During that phase I was trying to be a cleancut state employee so I probably looked like a drunk guy who had no idea who they were, but catching the Hated in America documentary almost 15 years before that at the Dobie in Austin launched my own decade of rock and roll debauchery. I had a GG bumper sticker on my Hyundai for years after that night, until my wife totalled it in a bizarre double t-bone situation in which the freakish aspect of the accident was that she survived (and the airbag didn't go off).

The most recent time I last saw Merle was circa 2008 & after the Merle Allin Part I Interview... I dug out some of my old bands & gig photos &found the photo of Merle & I after Murder Junkies had played "Walter's On Washington" in Houston, Tejas... Merle's beard was super long then and the Murder Junkies played a killer live gig!! Hey Merleif you happen to see this message check this out!! P.P.P.S. Get this!! I just typed in Lancaster, New Hampshire into "Google Maps" & when I scrolled in to get a better aerial view close up of the town, to the right of U.S. Route 2, Mechanic Street turns into Middle Street and a red pin drop is listed for "GG Allin Birthplace" across the street from "Fresenius Kidney Care Lancaster" Dialysis Center... I wouldn't have posted the google map detailed directions on where to search of this wasn't already "public knowledge"... I just found that to be so mindblowingly cool...looks like GG Allin is a local homegrown celebrity back at his New Hampshire small town birthplace... "The Madman Of Manchester" strikes again! "Live Free Or Die"!!
I really wished you would ask him about the time he slipped LSD into his brothers donuts when he was in his teens. At the time, GG didn't party, didn't do anything. When he was tripping, he got pissed off at his brother for doing it, took all his clothes off, kicked and punched holes in the wall and tried to kill Merle. This was the glint in GG's eyes of things to come. This is only a tad bit mentioned in the HATED documentary that the famed director Todd Philips did when he was still a young little student.
