Doug Moody's Mystic Records was a good indy label. His office was right across the street from the Cathay De Grande. Sometimes there would be after parties inside the office. After the shows at the CDG, the bands would bring there equipment over and play another late night set. The party would continue. Bands like ILL Repute, The Grim, Dr. Know, Adolescents, Channel 3, MIA, The Descendents, Agent Orange, Social Distortion and Shattered Faith would play there a lot. The Mentors were always there. Sin 34 was always one of my favorites. I saw all the great bands there. Incredible time!

That is very cool.I had to look up the location of CDG. When you said the Mentors were always there, i figured it was Hollywood.I lived in a scummy part of Hollywood in 1991-92 and Il Duce would always be roaming the streets.Once he wandered into our little yard, had to snap a photo of him and he responded with a little Hitler-salute...he stayed in character so to speak.

He loved Keith as Flag vocalist and always talks up most the stuff pre him big time, but especially with Keith fronting.(well singing, it was always Greg's band) Henry killed it on The My War record, he was perfect for that, but I honestly love his spoken word stuff best. Keith was my favorite Flag vocalist far and away. All unhinged manic energy, pent up rage, and that balls out fuck you motormouth delivery. Love it!

Came here from a Rollins interview -- what a polar opposite. Anyone who hasn't listened to Morris's DJ schtick in GTA V -- worth a listen. Dude is something.

Back in the 80s I was at a Circle Jerks show. I got into an argument with Keith. He came down off the stage and confronted me. More words were exchanged, then he forcibly shoved me with two hands . I shoved him back. He cocked his fist back and I did the same. Then three bouncers jumped on me and threw me out. Good times!

The Jerks played a show in Brooklyn on the second toure east that only about 40 people went to,loved the early punk shows that were sparsely attended.

On March 5, 1985, the Dickies were one of a number of California punk bands to play a very unexpected benefit show; other bands on the bill included the Circle Jerks, the Vandals, and D.I. The show's beneficiaries were the Cypress College Republicans.

I relate! I used to do that too when I was younger. Mostly, I would skank to music, but anything else in adidition like shoulder rolls or jumping off furniture etc. was fair game. I've noticed that no body skanks in the pit anymore. What happened? Did everone all of a sudden forget how to skank? I was watching a fairly recent MDC live show fron the Candy Shop? NYC, and I noticed everyone was flailing their arms and everything else, but no one was skanking. It looked weird!

Despite all of the lawsuit drama I really think Keith just wants everyone to be friends.
