Pump Gas 508 Stroker: Lashing Valves and Priming Oil System
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This method of lashing valves should work well for most hydraulic roller lifters(following manufacturer's guidelines). This big block mopar stroker engine has trickflow hydraulic roller lifters, which are made by Howards, and a comp cams hydraulic roller camshaft.

Very good adjustment video Joe! Can you tell me what was special about the rocker arm shafts? Better oiling or better Rockwell hardness or both?
@JustMoparJoe
Жыл бұрын
I believe it is hardness. Mine had trails worn in by the rollers. These were much heavier wall too.

@@JustMoparJoe I'm getting antsy to see that motor on the Dyno.
When I put my engine together I went ahead and got pushrods that had through the pushrod oiling in them. I believe the Howard's lifters already oil through the lifter because they also fit American Motors cars. I have seen many cup style pushrods overheat because of lack of oiling, hopefully you will not have this issue. I did not see any lack of oil pressure due to this and can see no downside. I don't think there is a ton of oil going to the top of the motor with this modification
@JustMoparJoe

Thanks, Thomas. I’ve heard of guys fearing that oil would flood the top end with the hollow pushrods and rocker shaft oil. I think it’s a wives tale. I also saw online that some were trying a spray bar in the valve covers like the Indy valve covers hadZ

About 10 minutes in the camera shows what appears to a pretty bad mismatch between the intake and head angles. Just an optical illusion I hope.
@JustMoparJoe
Жыл бұрын
No illusion at at. Just bad casting. When the intake is spun 180 degrees, the mismatch swapped sides. Fortunately I matched the intake port windows with an endoscope before bolting it down. Thanks for your concern.
