Pt.3 Polaris RZR 800 Top End Overhaul At D-Ray's Shop
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Doin' a top end overhaul on a Polaris Ranger RZR 800. Air filter maintainence is critical on these machines, otherwise you get what we have here, worn piston rings. Thanks for watchin'. Part 4 will be up soon!

You're a very thorough mechanic, D-Ray. Glad there are a few of you out there, wish you were closer to me
It's a pleasure to watch a man, that knows what he is doing, Work. Keep on Truckin
Awesome video series! Very well made. Thanks! 👌
Great video. As we would say in Kentucky, "You're in the short rows now". I love working on things like this. A lot of the time it is very enjoyable as long as you arent having too much problem! haha
You are a top hand D-Ray. Excllent camera too.
Thanks man, I am kinda particular about bein' clean when doin' engine work, almost OCD about it! lol
Thanks man, and yes, I do go over an improved air filter that I highly recommend. All we be revealed! lol
I love the vids!! Id love to see some atv projects!!
Nice/clean and full compression again :-) You just know the result will be spot on, every base covered, as if nothing had ever happened :-) Smashing tutorial :-)

How much does a top end rebuild cost?
as always you have done a fine job sir....i still like the small block option tho...lol
Great video…..can you tell us what you used to decarbonize your head ….I’m using parts cleaner but it’s coming off slow and hard…..looking for a quick fix …..thanks
In your video you pre-install the pistons in the cylinder, then the circlips. Those clips a nightmare --esp the front cylinder you can't see. Ever try mounting the pistons on the conrods first, then wriggle the cylinder down over them?
great video. Have you considered going with an aftermarket intake with a donaldson filter setup. There are a few on the market. They work great. If you go that rout make sure to get one with a metal canister, the plastic ones will let dirt seep through the plastic tubes.
cool man
Mine is a Sony handycam hdr-cx150. I don't know if they make this model any more, the current models are pretty much the same, mine just had 16gb of onboard memory with an additional 16gb sd card slot.
Great video D-Ray, "non-borable cylinder" what a POS!
I used the hose clamp trick
Old video I know. But do you guys know of a part number for valve seals for Napa or some other auto parts store?
How do you decarbonize valves?
I try to keep the air filter clean on my bike but I'm pretty worried about it! That's definitely one of the downfalls of a high-performance four stroke!
Nothing wrong with that mate, thats the mark of a professional repairer with pride in doing a good job for the customer. Please never lose it, its well worth doing :-)
what size is the spark plug wrench on a 800 thanks
I use purple power. I get it in the one gallon jugs, and run it thru the soap dispenser in my pressue washer.
What parts do u use for your rebuilds and were u order from?
I tried to call you today. Is it possible to replace the camshaft without removing the engine?
Ah yes, th' beloved Polaris piston pin circlips......lol!
What did you use to clean the unit before disassembly? Never been able to get one that clean. What are you using as a parts washer?
Thanks for these video's. Doing my top end right now and have one question. There is an expansion plug in my kit that is supposed to go into the cylinder. Here is the part number, Plug 7051534. How did you get this plug in place? Is there a part I'm missing? Thanks again!
You forgot to tell us that the shop towels are also to catch the blood from when you stab your self with the screw driver putting the clips in and also how many times you say the F word putting those damn clips in. LoL
Do you have to have the head machined? Before reinstalling?
Great video D Ray. How do you clean the carbon off the valves and head?

I use a round drill mounted wire brush for the head, it works well for getting in the ports. I used a blast media cabinet for the valves, but a wire brush on a bench grinder works well also. Thanks for watching!

Dj Sariyski I bead blasted the valves, the intake I used spray carb cleaner and a small wire brush.
Thanks much. Very useful (ps turn off the background music please)
You have to machine that ring on your finger it is a little too small. haha!
lmfao just got done putting those stupid clips in and stabbing my hands with the flathead
