Pt.2 Polaris RZR 800 Top End Overhaul At D-Ray's Shop

Doin' a top end overhaul on a Polaris Ranger RZR 800. Air filter maintainence is critical on these machines, otherwise you get what we have here, worn piston rings. Thanks for watchin'. Part 3 will be up soon!

That was a great way of showing the wear on the rings. Astounding how fast that dust tore the motor up.

Smashing Tutorial as allways :-) Ive had a gudgeon pin circlip fall into the engine before :-(, i had to take the engine out and wash out the big end area untill it fell out, not fun :-(, i quickly learnt the important rule of stuffing rags in step. Love that tool, easy and controlled, and the magnet is brilliant :-) Ive never seen a piston ring so bad, im amazed it even ran with the compression loss. Very enjoyable to watch an expert, thanks for recording it :-)

Another good simple practice even on a top end rebuild is to pull the oil pan to clean it along with the oil pick up screens and remove any possible sludge . Easy and good insurance.

Thanks, I was afraid the camera would'nt really show the end gap very well so that's why I used the cards. Really puts it into perspective! lol

Thanks! I was suprised at how quiet the engine ran, you'ld think with all that wear, It would sound like th' pistons were swappin' holes!
