Psychedelics & Civilization, Light & Darkness | Graham Hancock | Psychedelic Society of Edinburgh

This talk took place on March 11th 2016 , in Scotland's capital, on a night hosted by The Psychedelic Society of Edinburgh.
Graham's talk , ''Psychedelics and Civilisation, Light and Darkness'' , investigates the possibility, that by demonising and criminalising the use of psychedelics rather than seeking out ways to harness their power for altering consciousness in safe and nurturing spaces, our society may have set itself on a profoundly negative path.
It was a full house as 500 fans enjoyed this rare chance to hear one the world's foremost voices on psychedelic use throughout human history, and even engage in a lively Q&A afterwards.
Thanks to Juro Oravec for filming and editing this event.

It's a pity that we lost all of that, all that made us be in the world in a different way. I had the chance to participate in a San Pedro Ceremony lead by two great ecuatorian shamen. Soon everything became so different; soon I saw the people in the ceremony as Theriantrope, but in such a beautifull and funny, humoristic, gracefull way... It seems as I was inside a Fabule made by Esopo. I was able to stood there (in that frequencie of perception for a while and one of the shamen too... we felt that we travelled to the very old Arabia, the one described in One thousend and one nights. In a ritual we all connect with the same fields; and we feel that those fields exists... so it's knowledge. Now we became "Little" ¡Hey! but knowledge it's out-there, and in-here. And once you experienced it it remains on the grasp... and you'll never surrender; and never stop learning. Even in dreams you learn, the point is: tray to remember your dreams and to get lucid inside your dreams: "Drugs" connects with Realms, and realms are there and here. That "There_Here" it´s the clue: it changes your vibration... and once you learn to change your vibration you hook another realm... and in another realm you learn (how to be energy and how to energize). So, even if now we are like "Little" it's HUGE what it's Out-there...

Great talk. Always find your "fact finding mission" in archeology more interesting but a little brainstorming about psychedelics is never bad. Hope to see ya on Joe Rogan soon, always find those podcasts to be the places where you best express yourself and it's been a while since you updated us on the new findings. Keep up the good work =)

you have to know this!! The snake on the tree is depicting an ancoent symbol of the kundalini, with the snake representing how energy moves in a spiral form, just as in the atoms, as in the galaxies, as in how life progresses or degenerates(upwards spirals of good energy-karma-motivation and the opposite). Also, it depicts both polarities, ying and yang, female and male, and how the soul incarnates and evolves in all experiences. Now, at last, it also depicts how the kundalini energy moves from the root chakras to the higher chakras, all the way up to the pineal and pitutirity gland, also known as the third eye chakra and the chrown chakra. This is actually the meaning of our physichal experience on earth- to evolve our souls trough our physichal bodies, and get a higher consoiusness- this is done by love energy, by meditation and cleansing the aura from negative toxins found in our society. The priestclass in the middle ages told us that it was not about the kundalini, but rather something we had to feel bad about, merely beeing kicked out of the garden of eden- so that we would easier pay money to the pover greedy priests. Now, they did not want us to know back then, about our spiritual potential, and they dont want us to know now neither- this is also why the church eliminated all the native american tribes- to keep us from the spirit of the universe, from the coexistence with nature, animals and oursleves as spiritual, friendly beeings.

I remember a video called 'Graham Hancock Explains Who The Ancient Teachers of Mankind Really Are'. About half a year ago it still was on youtube, not completely sure if on this channel, but I can't seem to find it anymore. I'm talking about the video with projectionslides, not the audio only version thats still online. There was something weird with the slides where the colors were off, they were very green in appearance overall, but still clear too see what's going on. The audio quality was very good aswell, which made it a pleasant version to watch. Does anybody knows? edit: found roughly the same lecture i think here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gYGKxJWmpMe7lKw.html

It never ceases to amaze me how many COUGHERS there are in any audience. First of all it is extremely rude to go out in public when you're sick, second of all it's rude to go to a lecture knowing that you'll be coughing on people around you, getting them sick, as well as interrupting the speaker! Some people are just mindless... GREAT presentation though. The notion of a man-made Amazon deeply intrigues me, among other things.
