Finally got my hands on one and it's easily the best purchase ive made this year.

If you have access to a tv at all times then you probably won’t need one, but if you’re limited or restricted this just allows you to hop back on I mean game is game, I’m gunna be a dad soon and being with my girl I don’t want to take up the tv to game it so this just feels like I can hop back on n trophy grind/ hop on w the boys

I just got one a few days ago after realizing they are restocked, I wanna love it but little upset at how games like COD or Fortnite play , you can def see the difference. Hoping this is something fixed in the future bc this is a great concept

Honestly I used my iPad with PS remote play and a spare controller and it was amazing. I bought this thing and I returned it after a few days. It is a good device but since I use my iPad for most things, it’s always with me. It just made more sense and streaming games on decent WiFi was a really good experience and I didn’t want to bring another device with me around to charge etc. I was playing Ghost of Tsushima while replying to emails 😂 The portal is cool and really well made. I’m sure there are people who would benefit from one - maybe if you don’t have a handheld this would make sense especially with the PS plus game catalogue with retro titles it’s a great investment. If there was a truly new portable, like the PS Vita, I’d buy.

Yes! It’s a very case specific accessory for sure! Also at least that Psvita rumor is coming and hopefully it covers on the handheld games as well as streaming from consoles we already have!

did you notice a difference between the ps portal and the remote play on ipad, or did it feel the same? I tried remote play on my ipad and something just feels off about it that makes it not enjoyable. im scared of it being the same on ps portal

I’ve noticed that the psplay experience on the phone doesn’t work too well in my case, sometimes I would get artifacting and the touchpads on the screen wouldn’t register for me. On the other hand chiaki (ps5 stream for handheld) works better to me than the psportal but it does require some time to setup. From my experience the psportal works best out of the box that doesn’t require much setup!

I have very fast internet but my Portal stays disconnected from my ps5.

Did you do a software update? I did find that some consoles or handhelds need some time to “break in” ? Like I had to play some games for a few hours and then next time I turn it on it runs like butter? Could just be a me thing lol

I wanted to like it. I’m taking mine back tomorrow. I’ve tried every trouble shoot and it won’t connect outside of my home.

Yep! You would need that strong internet connection to stream outside of your network! I haven’t thoroughly tested that yet

I was playing Zenless zone zero!

Not worth it. Get a Odin 2 Pro, install chaiki, stream ps5 1080p 60fps and also install other emulators. Profit.

That’s why tech savvy people love the Odin 2 pro! Even still, it’s a nice out of box experience that a lot of people that aren’t tech savvy would still appreciate lol

Why? It's one of the biggest selling Consoles. I own both Portal and Switch. I don't care what's better. Just play what you like. though I do prefer the Portal. It's really good. Portal rules. Though I personally can't stand those Portal hating trolls. I understand what you mean

Exactly! They’re consoles that are made to do what you expect it to do, I also like the portal! The controls and the big screen, definitely worth it and exactly what I need it for!

The portal is a big ass screen and controller that only does 1 thing good. It isn't worth buying when you could own another big ass screen and controller that do several things, including what the portal does just as good.

You’re not wrong! There’s also the steam deck that can do the same thing and more, the rog ally that can do the same thing and more, and also iPads can do the same thing and more! They all just require more steps and doesn’t provide that Sony out of the box experience that some people want. It could be that this psportal accessory is more targeted towards people that want that basic out of the box experience.

Not for under £200 you cant If you have a tv being used by family or just want to game on ps5 and watch tv (footy ,olympics etc) its a great machine Lcd high gloss screen is really good Speakers are good for the size Only a better battery life would improve it as it is

I have the deck oled and portal . Though I can do streaming in oled but the experience on the portal is at least 40 percent better so it's worth it for me .

What doesn't work for you means its a worthless product hahaha. I have a steamdeck, ipad, iphone, gaming laptop to do remote play as well but the PS Portal is just a better experience. Been playing my PS5 more than ever now coz of the portal!
