I love how the 1000 is more durable compared to the 2000 and 3000. I love how it's fat and heavy as hell I wish they had the specs of the 3000 and the body of the 1000.

Yeah the 1000 is even better than the Vita in-terms of ergonomics. The Vita needs that rubber add-on to match the 1000.

Sashimi404 Being Japanese it's not necessarily good. PS2 SCPH-90xxx series are Japenese, resolve a lot of system bugs and enhanced the bios. But for pirates it was a pain in the ass. The chips for unlock the copy protection still worked with PS2 games, but not with PS1 anymore.

They originally were going to allow you to output video on the Vita, that's what that mystery port to the right of the cartridge slot is for. You were going to plug a cable in that would connect to your TV, but they scrapped that idea in favor of the PlayStation TV. Also, noticed you forgot a few things from the previous video, though you added some things that one didn't (the placement of logos and the size of the ring, though another change was they made the buttons more round on the 3000). -2000 allowed you to output video to your TV, but only through component cables in progressive mode. -3000 had the built-in microphone, and allowed you to output games not just via component, but via composite in interlaced mode. Still, nice to have a newer version of that video with the Vita, and with a better camera out.

There was actually another PSP he didn't mention, the PSP E1000 (AKA PSP Street), which was released only in European territories in 2011. That removed the wi-fi, the video output, had a mono speaker, was almost as thick as the 1000 with no bumps, and had a matte finish, and came in only white and black. It also had a battery you couldn't remove.

I remember I got a small job in an auto transmission shop back in 2004 while in high school. All of a sudden I saw this thing on a Videogame magazine. I'm an Xbox guy since the day of the Sega Consoles. So the only PlayStation product I was interested in was The PSP. I saved up my money and got me the 1000 the next year. It was insane then and insane now. The premium feeling still lives up to this day. I do need to replace the shell. It's starting to have some cracking and screen has a few scratches. Still love it to this day. I'm kinda thinking of upgrading to the Vita. Yes it's discontinued, but not to me. Great video by the way. Forgot to mention the raised buttons on the D pad after the 1000.

I got the PSP 1000 imported from japan right after it came out and that one fell so many times throughout the years and is still working perfectly, that console is rock solid and so great, how much fun I had playing it alone, with friends or nephews and I still do today, thank you Sony for that amazing console, too bad the ps vita wasn't a huge success, the games on it doesn't really interest me tbh and I wonder if the ps vita would be retro compatible originally with psp games, it would be a good reason to get one.

just bought a GO on eBay just for emulators, and the fact that it can fit in your pocket. So when I hook it up on a dock to my tv, connect a ps3 remote. I'm playing classic games on the big screen. In my opinion the psp go was ahead of its time. DLC only was really unheard back then compared to hard copy. BUT that's not the case nowa days.

Late reply, but yes you can. You just need to have your PSN account on both. I have the Vita and PSTV and was able to use the same 16GB memory card on both. Note that you're forced to format the card though if a different PSN is attached to the Vita/PSTV than the one the memory card is attached to.

@@grawman67 The PlayStation TV is worth having as you can play most PS Vita games on the TV, as well as PSP (the PSP 2000, 3000, and Go support video output, but only via component, not HDMI) and PS1. If you want one, I'd recommend getting one soon. Prices have skyrocketed recently, they're well above the $100 mark atm, won't be surprised if in a few years it's $200-$300+. The spike in demand was due to CFW, and with how few of units were made.

my 3000 drives me nuts when I am playing games that need the shoulder buttons.. my right palm keeps on turning the system off mid game.. i basically can't palm it to avoid that happening, which then makes it uncomfortable to hold.. Was the 1000 or 2000 better in that regard? I have a lot of classic UMD games so if i was to buy a second hand one it would have to be a umd model. But if the power switch is as easy to move on the 1000 and 2000, as the 3000, then there's no point... Thanks in advance, thanks for the video also!

1000 wasn't suited for fighting games, to make it feel more sleek the dpad pressed in softly, but diagonal motion was hard if you did it in ONE motion eg quarter circle foward (street fighter/tekken) you had to take the psp apart to do a dpad mod (easy)
