    Nice and informative :) Also you're sort of right about maxing stats on Huney, it can be done with two adepts and a cent/abil but as you most likely know that dedicating every slot unit to boosting stats at very high level isn't a good idea, so while technicaly possible heavily not reccomended.

    Yeah, I was sure it was impossible prior to Blue Burst but couldn't remember if it was doable in BB. Definitely not worth it if you have to sacrifice that many unit slots! Thanks for watching!

    Support HUney is totally doable! They can actually get really high MST if you invest in it (1177). Unfortunately to max MST while still being good at melee requires a huge gear commitment. You can definitely run HUney as a hybrid melee/support though.

    Nicely done, it really feels like you've played with this class for a long time! I would have liked to see slicer mentioned but I imagine with these low ATA values it might be really hard even with Smartlink and Heavenly/Arm, maybe with thirteen and diska of braveman it's somewhat more tolerable? Apparently Smartlink, even though it says so in the description, doesn't really increase your range accuracy but removes a fixed accuracy penalty inate to hunters and forces. Either way, pretty interesting stuff! Edit: Wouldn't mind seeing RAmar/RAmarl next! Maybe RAmarl to keep up the semi support vibe? :D

  • @SectionSkyly

    @SectionSkyly

    6 ай бұрын

    Yeah, all hunters and forces have a built in penalty for ranged weapons, so the description of Smartlink is slightly misleading but it'll feel like an ATA increase with the penalty removed. Unfortunately, misleading descriptions are par for the course in PSO (SJS anyone?) If I'm being honest, I totally forgot about slicers. 😅 Diska of Braveman with Hit% (even without the Thirteen set boost) is really strong in certain situations, for example on the episode 4 boss. Thanks for the reminder! Next will either be RAmar or RAmarl!

    Im playing a Hunewearl with my friend who is on Ranger. I pretty much get slapped every time i try to get a hit in. I miss my attacks constantly, and everything i find has the slowest attack speed ever, OR it has the shortest range ever. Meanwhile my friend just sits in back firing nonstop. Is this how its suppose to be? I feel like i not only deal more dmg using a pistol, but i also get hit way less using a pistol.

    Particularly in the early game, HUnewearl really struggles for accuracy. What I'd suggest early on is use light attacks more often (so do light, light, heavy for example), or do 2-hit combos which normally give you time to get out of the way of attacks in time. The last attack on a lot of melee weapons is very slow and will get you hit often, so focus on your positioning (try and get behind monsters whenever you can). Handgun is a safe option if you're not able to reliably land attacks, but melee will generally deal more damage. Make sure you use units like Elf/Arm (for early game), or later God/Arm, Heavenly/Arms to help with your accuracy. You can also use weapons with Hit% to further increase accuracy, and raise DEX on your Mag a bit too. I noticed you mentioned attacks being slow; you can remedy this a bit with certain gear that boosts attack speed. Units like Devil/Battle, God/Battle, Heavenly/Battle or V101 all boost your attack speed, and some other gear does the same. Accuracy is definitely one of the weak points of playing HUnewearl. It does get better once you have better gear, but in some areas you will just miss quite a bit unfortunately. If you like Hunter and want accuracy, you could try a HUcaseal? Hopefully you can enjoy the HUnewearl more as you level though!

    @@SectionSkyly Im lvl 28 right now, and its just brutal. The Booma's in Hard-Forest always get a hit on me anytime i try to do anything. I find weapons like the Gigush, and Partisan, but the AOE doesnt matter when i miss 3 out of 4 attacks, and they attack so slowly that i just end up always on the ground anytime i try doing something. The TP from Hunewearl helps, but not to support my teammate, it helps to heal myself up because im constantly getting slapped around lol. My Ranger friend does like 80% of the damage, whereas im running around in circles, going in for a hit of 15-20 dmg, and then getting slapped for half my HP, then its back to running around and healing (the TP comes in handy).

    At Lv28 you're still in the very early game really, which is where you'll feel the accuracy issues the most with HUnewearl. You also won't have access to most of the attack-speed increasing units yet (they drop from VH onwards, aside from General/Battle, which isn't worth using). Because of that you need to think about your positioning and choice of weapon more. Something like a Gigush will let you hit multiple targets, but the tradeoff is that they're slow and not accurate. Partisans are more accurate but sacrifice some of the damage. When you're attacking, make sure you start with light attacks as they have the best chance of landing and are quicker than heavy attacks. Generally you can use a heavy to finish off the monster. Once you have the accuracy, you can start to incorporate more heavy attacks. If Hard Forest Boomas are hitting you, you might be starting your attacks too late, or over-committing. One thing you can do is feinting, which is where you do a combo you can cancel out of easily (for example doing 2 normal hits, rather than a full 3-hit combo). When the monster is into range and about to hit you, you can 'feint' by pulling back away from them which will make the monster miss its attack. You can then capitalise on it and get a few more hits in. When you play as a Hunter in particular, learning what openings you have is really important. Things will improve later as you get access to more accurate gear (and have more levels on your Mag). I do have a Beginner's Guide to PSO on my channel which does explain some things like this, so it might be worth a look if you're really struggling. I won't lie though, HUnewearl isn't a great class at low level and it can be rough at times (this is why I say that it's not a good class for Challenge Mode either). Later on, it's a great all-rounder! Hope you can stick with it, with some levels behind it it's probably my favourite class.

    For what it's worth, I change it a lot depending on what I'm running. I would probably not recommend having normal attack on centre pallette though because it can be an issue if there's a lot of items on the ground. I've played it like this for 20 years so it's a hard habit to break 😅

    My typical setup is hard(blue), normal(green) and special(red). I believe this stems from the A & B button placement of the GC controller. Not sure what I did on the DC.
