Some clarity and additional info: - This is not a sponsored video. - These fans will allow you to optimise the airflow of the PS5 - which is particularly important if it is stored in a cabinet. - It is possible to use these fans without mounting them, as they include rubber feet as shown.

@@TheNextUpgrade Im dealing with a closed door cabinet situation.(Wifes rules, dont ask) what are your thoughts on this> * cutting a rectangle in the back of the cabinet, push the Ps5 backing itself to the rectangle so the Ps5 exhausts out the back. I see that you are pulling the air out of the cabinet but what if one fan was pushing and the other was pulling? Im just not sure if pulling the air out with both fans are the most efficient way(with a closed door situation). HVAC systems dont work that way so im assuming there is a ventilation method that would be more efficent than the other in a closed cabinet situation.

I did something like this in my cabinet. I installed a single fan from an old computer. I spliced the wires to an AC adapter which is plugged into a wireless plug that I can turn on and off, so it ventilate all of my consoles and components. Made a world of difference.
This is the best advice! PS5 runs HOT. Installed one 140mm fan in my cabinet (A lot like this video) and it made a huge difference.

I've already done this and it is a great idea because I stream loads and play all my consoles . great video
My PS5 sits upright on a separate stand about 10 inches away from the wall behind it and nothing else around it so it is well ventilated all around, however this is a GREAT solution for those who have the PS5 or any device inside a cabinet. I am familiar with AC Infinity, they make cooling system for Audio Receivers and are the leaders in cooling systems. I have the Ac Infinity Aircom T10 sitting on top of my Yamaha receiver, I was even thinking of a way to have one attached somehow directly on the PS5 itself. Anyways glad your thinking outside of the box and giving these tutorials how you accomplished it.
I done this myself with the ps3 years ago and it's definitely a good idea to put fans in your cupboard. I put one at the top and bottom. The bottom one blowing in and the top out.. it made a drastic change

@@Tectosaurus yeah, that's fine too. However, since the PS5 really has no toggle switch for on or off, I got myself a two-socket wall plug with a transparent switch. I put the two-socket switch on the left of my PS5 sitting horizontally inside the shelf. Plus I want the fan to run longer to rid of some lingering hot air...and also use it when other consoles are turned on

With no good place to stand this PS5 vertically (mainly due to kids) I was forced to setup my PS5 horizontally in a cabinet with only 1" of space to the left and right and maybe 4" above. Needless to say the cabinet heats up quickly so I was concerned and came across your video. I ordered the drill and the fans and the kids and I turned it into quite the family project. Everything went smoothly and my only concern ended up being that due to my setup I was forced to install these fans inside the cabinet versus on the backside. Putting both fans in the top left and right corners I had not left enough of a gap to allow my drill to be perfectly straight, making things rather difficult. It all worked out in the end and the kids and I could immediately tell a difference temperature wise and can barely hear the fans running even on the high setting. Thanks for the great video!

For those that do not want to cut holes, I have used these fans on my ps4 pro and 1x for years, and then with the ps5 since launch. I didn't cut holes for them in the back of the tv stand but what I do is place both at the back of the cubby. The one on the right is faced at a 30-45 deg angle to blow air towards the back and to the left behind the console, which also draws cool air in by the intake on the right. The one on the left blows air out of the front of the cabinet to create a circulation. Since the PS4 and PS5's air intake is on the right side (when facing the console) it draws in cool air. Especially the PS5 since it draws air in mostly on that front right corner more than the right side like the PS4 did. Never had an issue with the PS5 and heat, only ever hear when the disc spins up. I do need to buy their thermal sensor instead of having to manually turn them on and off each time I play. That said, they do make ones with faceplates if you want to cut out the back of your tv stand/cabinet, which I may do for my upgraded htpc since it runs pretty hot now with the 6700xt I put in it. Debating on buying a few more of those plate types for the PS5 cubby and just exhaust out of the back. I just hate cutting holes in that thick cardboard stuff they use for the backing.

You've probably figured it out by now but I just posted this elsewhere: I didn't cut holes for them in the back of the tv stand but what I do is place both at the back of the cubby. The one on the right is faced at a 30-45 deg angle to blow air towards the back and to the left behind the console, which also draws cool air in by the intake on the right. I have these fans as well. They are great but if I'm not mistaken you cant adjust the fan speed unless it is plug in a block and plugged in a wall. USB power only runs it at one speed.
I've been using the exact same fans to cool my Xbox One X for months, I have one blowing hot air away from the back of the console and I have an external hard drive seating on top of the other one .
Were you able to compare temps with and without the fans? Just want to know if it's significantly useful.
I'm honestly getting small fans for my gaming desk so when I get my PS5 if I do have it on for long periods I can turn my fan on and keep it cooler like I did my PS4
Already making something similar on my modem and router 😁 Definetely a good tip!
This is nice thank I'm do it.
Nice video. Thank you. I went one step further. Since the PS5 is still going to be warm for a while afterward, I wanted the fan to continue blowing, so instead of plugging the fans directly into the PS5, I purchased an inexpensive usb hub. I grabbed one with the wall plug just to be on the safe side. There are several on Amazon, but the one I purchased is the, "Powered Atolla 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub." I mounted the hub directly next to the PS5, with some Heavy Duty Double Sided, Removable, Clear Mounting tape. The hub has 4 ports, so you can technically use 4 fans instead of just the 2. When I'm done gaming I just leave the fans running for another 15 minutes or so. (Hint: When powering off a port, hold the power button for 2 seconds.) They have pretty blue lights to let you know when the port is powered down.

I am in the process of doing this for my PS5 and another set for the XBox. I came back to see if you used the rubber feet for insulation to the cabinet. I will stand the ps and Xbox and mount an 'in' fan toward the bottom and an "out' fan toward the top of the cabinet. FYI I will only run the ps or Xbox one at a time. The fans do not seem to move a ton of air but as stated they are super quiet and the sound of the PS5 running will drown out the fans for sure. I hate drilling in to this cabinet though... It was a fortune lol. Lastly - I will use a sharpie marker or flat black paint to paint where I cut so you don't see raw wood.
