Thanks for replying, it does read regular DvD disc after i've switched it, but it still doesn't read blu ray discs. I guess i shall give it a shot and order the correct lens which is KES-450DAA for my ps3.

You mean disassembling the laser mechanism and assembly ? if so, then you need to watch our Lens replacement tutorial. In that tutorial I'll fully disassemble the mechanism and then re-assemble. Yes you need KES-450A lens module. Thanks

there are few different models floating around KES-450AAA KES-450DAA KES-450EAA KES-460A KES-470A if its not reading disc - its not the right lens or non-functioning lens. best is to replace with the exact same model.

Nevermind, it turns out the 160gb slim 2501A is the same as this video so u should add that in the description

Yes that clicking noise means the lens has pretty much failed, purchase NEW KES-450A and carry out replacement. Thanks

Best option would be to open up your Blu-Ray drive and check the model/version and replace with the exact same model/version. Hope this helps So far we have come across the following Laser Mechanism Types:- KEM450AAA KEM-450DAA KEM-450EAA

there is no PCB board attached to the Blu-Ray Drive anymore for newer models. Simply purchase a brand new drive (exact model as yours) and stick it in your console and you are good as the PCB is now located on the motherboard.

Ok, my question is does the "Lens" on Ps3 models CECH-2001A works on Ps3 models CECH-2501A? Because I was able to take out the "lens'' from my Ps3 model CECH-2001A and replaced it with my Ps3 model CECH-2501A, but then it still didn't read any blu ray discs...is that the reason why it still didn't work? Hi, my ps3's blu ray doesnt accept and eject dvds. I tried to reset the blu ray but havent changed the situation, so what can it be? When i turn on the ps3 the blu ray lens blink a couple of times blue and a couple of times red. Is that ok?

Chris bailey-lundy There is no PCB on those drives. Its embedded on the Motherboard. (Good thing) In other words, it is extremely simply to replace Blu-Ray drive on those models. Simply take out your Broken Blu-Ray drive and then just place your "New" Blu-Ray drive. That's all there is to it.
