I’ll offer a tip. I’m in my 50’s. At age 45 my test was at 250. I’m in my 50’s with my test ranging from 850-950 now. Step one get below 14% body fat. You may lose mass on a diet, do it anyways, get it over with. Step 2 is get blood work and look at the following: vitamin D level, DHEA, pronegolone, magnesium, calcium level, SHBG, and kidney function. My Vitamin D was 8, now it’s 80. I took 20k iu a day for two years to get it up there. Vitamin D3 is the most important vitamin/hormone. You have to get it checked. Don’t just pop D3, get it tested. That way you can gauge how much you need. 5K iu a day won’t do anything if you are low. It’s fat soluble so it takes ages to get your level up. DHEA and pronegolone are precursors to testosterone. If it’s low and you are young you need more sleep. If you are over 40 buy both on Amazon and take before bed I take 200 mg each and my estrogen is perfect. Take calm magnesium citrate powder before bed for GH production. Thing is and remember it, boosters will not do anything for you if you have nothing to make testosterone out of. Sleep! Get your sleep in. When you hit the gym you must bring intensity. No long rests, no messing with your phone, you must focus on every rep to beat the hell out of you. If you walk out of the gym on leg day like you walked into it, you are not doing anything. I look drunk walking out of the gym on leg day. After I do forearms I can barely open my car door. That raises testosterone as well. That is intensity. And train your forearms. I never see anyone doing that. If you suck at pull ups you’re neglecting forearms. Any sets I do on upper arms I do forearms.

    Does that work for women?

  • @jigthepuff4540

    @jigthepuff4540

    2 жыл бұрын

@@emmanuellapascalepaul4609 Vitamin D is more of a hormone than it is a vitamin. D3 helps the body convert precursors to hormones. If you are low in vitamin D it can help raise testosterone in women. Won’t be as much as men obviously. But it goes beyond just testosterone. If affects other hormones in the body and your immune system. I have not had a cold in years. But you need to test your levels and if you mega dose D3 you need to take K2 to hep prevent the body accumulating calcium in the blood and it’s a good idea to check blood calcium and kidney function. Before all of that get below 14% body fat. Be aware if you are dieting your testosterone will lower. Low carb diets lower testosterone. I cannot state this as much as I can. Lift with intensity and keep rest periods to a minute in the gym. You do not leave the gym until your body says “I’m done”. It’s that stress on the body that kicks it in to overdrive. Look around your gym. Look at the people in there that look absolutely the same month after month. Then look how the people who look better train. Short rest periods and lots of volume. When you are training right you’ll be doing 3 sets to everyone else’s set of one. Keep workouts under 30 minutes max. Some people complain about long distance runners having small legs, yet train in the gym for a marathon. Train like a sprinter. In and out of the gym. First five sets one minute breaks to hit your strength markers, then isolation exercises or other compound exercises with 30-45 second breaks. Don’t count the sets or reps at that point. By 30 minutes you should be toast. You’ll see yourself stronger on the next session as you are hitting the fast twitch fibers first then both fast and slow twitch together. Long drawn out workouts ignore the fact the fast twitch fibers were already spent by the 8th set.

I’m 68 yrs old and have been taking Tongkat Ali since Sept 2022. My testosterone was measured at 645. Over the years my T has been dropping at a rate of about 15 points per year. This Sept (2023) my Testosterone measured 709. I’ve done absolutely nothing different as far as supplements are concerned. I’ve been hitting the gym 6 days per week consistently for the last 51 yrs. I’d have to conclude that Tongkat Ali is responsible. Thanks Andrew for the recommendation!

Was interested in your trial after watching Huberman on your podcast. Having already watched him discuss it on his own podcast previously, He’s a very trustworthy and knowledgeable guy with his intentions set on truely helping people function better. So I knew it was definitely something to look into and having all the basics ticked off for me including vitamin supplementation (D3, B complex, C & magnesium), I’m set to be in a good position for these to have a positive effect. I think it’s important for you to stay consistent with the 2 supps and do another test perhaps 4-6wks down the track would be curious to see if levels remain the same or continue to get little bumps or decreases. Thanks for sharing!!

My body naturally stores muscle quite well....I've been accused of roids due to my large traps and forearms + vascularity. Thank You for this and glad I watched it! I am taking the exact same things and brands. I had been taking the Tongkat Ali for about 3 months as I heard Dr. Huberman mention it on another video. Just started the Fidogia a couple of weeks ago. I take them both in the morning with my coffee before breakfast. Then I have been taking another Fidogia in the early evening. My bottle From Barlowes says that each capsule is 500 mg. So I have been taking 1000mg a day. After watching this and reading some of the comments, I think I'll cut it to 500 mg. I do have my lifestyle in check with exercise, diet and have been working on my sleep. I did notice a difference in taking the Tongkat Ali before I started the Fidogia. Since starting the Fidogia, I don't feel too much difference except it almost seems my libido has gone down? Also, my appetite for food seems to have increased. I have not had any blood work. Just going on feel. Have to see what happens when cutting the Fidogia in half....

One more thing I would add to the list of "healthy lifestyle factors to get handled" before worrying about supplements is to stop watching porn. Its direct effect on testosterone is a little less clear but we can be certain that it will indirectly affect testosterone because it has detrimental effects on your dopamine system which will in turn have detrimental effects on your ability to keep the other healthy lifestyle factors in check.

Didn’t get labs cuz I’m not a podcaster who’s gunna make a video about it but a couple weeks in I’d start noticing little things, balls seemed bigger and baggier, voice a little deeper, have to shave a little more frequently, def an increase in libido as well. The longer I’ve been taking it the more often I notice these little benefits and they get stronger every time I notice them. An interesting benefit I’ve noticed is that after the gym, you’ve got that pump right? Well it seems almost like it’s a semi permanent pump. Probably means I’m putting on muscle quicker and easier but I’ll wake up the morning after say chest/shoulders/tricep day and notice it still looks like I have that pump. Overall it’s a solid combo I just hope the fedogia doesn’t go out of stock again like it did after hubernan was on rogan

Reducing SHBG doesn’t actually increase testosterone in fact if anything it will lower it due to more of the testosterone being free which is allowed it to convert into estrogen, which then causes negative feedback. Boron has a place, and that place is when your free test is disproportionately low compared to your total.

I turned forty this year and suspected my testosterone was jacked. I had all the symptoms but went to get tested anyway it had been over a year and a half since the last. I was at 271 ng/dl and my free number was a whopping 4 pg/dl. They started me on testosterone at 200mg once a month much to my protest. Everything I’ve researched says by weekly is a much more effective way to administer. For about 10 days I felt like I was on speed. I had a Macy kind of energy and I genuinely felt some euphoria for my gym sessions. On the other front my downstairs just woke up from the grave after two days. Now I’m in the end of week 4 and it seems like I never took the shot at all. I’m going to try these supplements and see if it helps me stay a little more level until I’m comfortable giving myself the injections in which case I’ll just do 50 a week.

That seems very low. A clinical-ish dosage to start is more like 100mg a week. Some do it twice a week. Some do it once a week. Bi weekly will definitely be more stable. Eventually you will not have that euphoria feeling. It will taper off like anything else. To get a similar effect you will need more testosterone. But that comes with issues, just get your numbers in a decent range and leave it be.

Depends on what’s causing your levels to be in the 300s? Do your testicles not function (high LH but low test) also known as primary hypogonadism, or does your brain not function (low LH and low test) also known as secondary hypogonadism. For primary it’ll do nothing, for secondary it can help.

*My testosterone went from 221 ng/dl to 448 ng/dl within a month of doing a carnivore diet.* My SHBG = 19 nmol/l (previously it was 45 nmol/l). My LH = 2 UI/L and FSH = 1 IU/L. I was 440lbs and sedentary (barely left the house for two years cause my classes were online). I adjusted to carnivore by eating a similar calorie intake and lost about 20lbs during the first month. I think a 200+ ng/dl is giant, especially because it’s not like I lost over 100lbs. It was mostly water weight. My carnivore diet is: steaks, kangaroo meat, beef liver, beef mince, sockeye salmon, raw egg yolk, milk, cheese, yogurt, and strawberries (vitamin C - your body absorbs more vitamin C as you eat less carbs). I cook in organic butter and add MCT oil to my protein shake on days that I don’t have time to cook. If I’m tempted by desserts I’ll just have a teaspoon of organic to my berries and yogurt.

Just saw this while shopping for Fadogia Agrestis Recommended Dosage: “As a dietary supplement take one 300 mg capsule per day, with or without food. After one week of use you may increase the dosage to two capsules (600 mg) if desired. We do not recommend exceeding three capsules (900 mg) per day. As Fadogia mimics the effects of luteinizing hormones to increase Test levels it’s best used in cycles to prevent the body adjusting and lowering the amount of luteinizing hormones it naturally produces. Therefore we recommend cycling this product in a schedule such as 3 weeks on / 1 week off, or 2 months on / 1 month off.”

Personally I'd stay clear of it until human trials have been done and the long term effects of its usage has been studied. Still maintaining no sugar and eating the broccoli and chicken once or twice a day. And surprisingly after another month I'm maintaining my weight, getting stronger, and my gut is down to 41". Still no breads and chips. Still only the occasional glass of scotch.

Toxicity is dose-dependent. If you take 600mg of fadogia/day, youd be taking less than what was given to rats when they showed liver toxicity

Huberman has been using Fadogia for years. When we discussed it he mentioned the studies were mainly done on rats and he doesn't think its dangerous in humans. Of course dosage matters, and he suggested 600mg vs the 1800 mg dosage that's on the back of the supplement.

My new blood work has test at 714 I'm responding well I think. But I wonder about the toxicity in rats it had. You can get labs done to check liver enzymes and kidney function. AST and LST are markers for the liver that are in basic panels. I don’t think you need to hop off of it that frequently, seems very counter productive. I would still recommend taking Vitamin D, zinc, and magnesium. A deficiency in any of those 3 will hinder the whole HPTA. Vitamin D deficiency is very common these days.

So I do take that and it seems to have only help my annoying digestive system I have always had problems with I wish I would have checked that before. Lol The blood work that I had done for the hormone was an advanced hormone test so it didn't have a liver/kidney enzyme on it. I'll have to look into that. But I did notice one odd thing about my hormone test. My prolactin was high. It went from 11 to 20 this is a very sensitive hormone so it could be anything. Does anyone know for sure if this is normal when taking Fadogia?

Just from a few of the things I had come across when doing some general research on it seemed to indicate that it would/could be damaging (I didn't do a deep dive into it)...I don't recall all the exact sources or whether or not they were talking about rats or humans. Also, there is a channel called "nutrition library" where he talks about Fadogia/potential negative implications...However, I'm not sure how credible his perspective is on the matter. Just wanted to give a heads up in case there is some validity to it.

I took both for about 2 months. Noticed a huge increase in gains (while living a healthy lifestyle like he mentioned in the vid). I just have to add. At the end of the two months I felt a little bit of swelling in my ass hole. No pain at all, but when using the restroom I noticed the increased pressure, so I took November off the fadogia and maintained the tongat. I would like some more insight from the community on that! The supps are great and a wonderful alternative to blackstone labs which I took before. I personally noticed that when I was doing HITT orientated exercise my recovery periods were significantly decreased, and my work to rest ratio was significantly better for all exercises. Basically was able to go to the gym every day while working 8 to 12 hour shifts. As long as I got a good night sleep I was ready for my work out. Just the increased pressure in the back end didn't feel normal, but after a month off I feel completely fine. So I'm gonna go back to it. My hypothesis is as follows. If you have increased production and cells in your body. Then you have the potential for negative reactions when using it for long period of time. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!
