I just wanted to leave you a comment, not about this particular video, but your channel in general. Your WoW videos are all very well thought out, explained in a way that is easy to understand, and really simplifies the talents/trees in a way that makes the info easy to digest. I've played prot for a few years and have to say I am really excited about both trees as they both bring a different flavor and playstyle. For the longest time prot warrior has been stuck in the Avatar/Unstoppable Force gameplay loop, and has to be one of my least favorite fantasies for a prot warrior in general. It's what I call the stompy stomp build where you slap the ground with your feet over and over like a toddler throwing a fit. Nowhere to be seen is the sword/shield sentinel gracing the battlefield with mobility, tactics, and brainpower. Just perpetual stomping. Now with Mountain Thane they've kept the stompy stomp path for prot warriors that liked that and made it more visually appealing, and I can get behind that. Would suck to eliminate a long-standing playstyle that may be the one thing keeping someone playing prot. However, Colossus now brings to the table an ability to spec maybe heavier into bleed damage, and revenge play, while getting a little further away from Unstoppable Force gameplay. Having a big attack to build up to also gives prot warrior something more interesting to do with their weapon than revenge since no one really keeps devastate and rip sunder armor/heroic strike. Granted, Colossus is certainly the Arms-flavored tree, and Mountain Thane is the Prot-flavored tree. But for me as someone who only plays Prot and Arms (never fury), I'm feeling like I'm in a really good spot going into War Within. DR is great on the MT tree, but typically if you're keeping IP/SB up, you're taking fairly low amounts of damage and are usually sitting in battle stance to maximize damage. We could see a lot more Colossus play for high-skill warriors looking to push better damage with Demolish, it'll all depending on the damage tuning. Overall boring isn't exactly bad, I think Demolish brings an exciting ability to the table without bloating-out or over-complicate the spec like we've seen with something like... Oracle. Nice vid.

maining a prot warr atm and gotta say i love thane hero speck you showed us. the colosus active ability seems to cancel animation on the last tick of the cast or is it just me noticing that?? - maybe they fix it by the release. nice video. ty!

I think, colossus is more for solo damage burst. Mb for pvp solo shuffle or rbg. Both tree looks good.

Thank you blizzard for helping me main Warrior, Ive always wanted to be an Enhancement shaman Tank and with the new tier sets for shamans and tree being pretty lame Warrior is my new main for war within LOL

How is prot looking compared to other tanks? Kinda seems like there weren’t many buffs to dmg mitigation or self healing.

So, colossus is super simple but gives you more choice and buttons. Mountain than is more interesting and complex but is entirely passive and reduces the talent choice options. Hmmmmm. Colossus is superior just because of shockwave knock up and will be mandatory in keys because it doesn’t DR with other stuns and it makes it a super short aoe hard interrupt.

What are you wearing about your neck?

mountain thane is looking more stormbringer than shaman, that is so sadge

I dont understand the mountain thane - why is making warriors shit sparks a good idea? seems jus silly

what do you mean, it goes back to warcraft 3 with the mountain thane dwarves. Stormbolts, Thunderclaps is part of the warrior theme. You want simple? just go for Colossus and Slayer. We warrior players who want a bit more flair will go with this.

Yeah, as the other commenters mentioned, it's from the original Warcraft 3... One of the most iconic Heroes in that game, it was a pretty big deal. :)
