I have lived in Prescott Valley since 2015 and love it but definitely a lot of Cons: 1) Limited job opportunities. Most people here are retired, commute to Phoenix Metro or work online. 2) Too many people. The town and infrastructure was never designed for 50,000-100,000 people and every year they keep building more and more homes. 3) Home prices are astronomical, $500k-$1M for a decent home.

Whoa! Allergies are BETTER here? No way, tons of REALLY NASTY juniper pollen every spring, with lots of winds to kick them up. My allergies are TERRIBLE here (Prescott/PV resident for 40 years). 2022 has been the worst allergy season in years (very windy and dry).

Great video! It’s right on. I go back-and-forth between Prescott Valley and San Diego. I think the biggest thing for me was that we had to have a car to get places, there are no sidewalks connecting housing areas to the shopping centers. I love the mild four seasons and how nice everyone is.

What is now a used car dealership on the AZ 69 frontage road was once a Texaco service station. "Mingus Bill's Texaco". My father was "Mingus Bill". 1973-1975. We lived in Prescott near the Dells at the corner of Williow Lake Road and Meadow Lane. First house on the left on Meadow Lane. Single-story white home.

If you bought 20 (maybe even 10) years ago, its all positive. If you came later, it's a tough call. There are far too many people in the area for the infrastructure, and it is only going to get worse. There is not an employment base in the area, and its too far to commute to Phoenix. You have to be independently wealthy

I have lived in Prescott Valley for many years, it went from being a sweet little burg to looking like a subdivision of Phoenix with all the traffic and craziness , We are also running out of water. The antelope and wildlife are gone and it is wall to wall developments named after the wildlife they destroyed to build them. Pronghorn Ranch, Quailwood, my ass.

@@livinginprescott I feel like we are turning into Phoenix North with all the problems that comes with it. Prescott Valley shuts down four wells after positive PFAS tests. After the City of Prescott announced in July that it had shut down two of its wells near the Prescott airport because of positive tests for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), Prescott Valley immediately tested all but two of its 27 wells (the two were offline). Of the 25 wells tested, four were found to have measurable amounts of the chemicals in the water pumped. Because one of the tests was considered uncertain, the well is being retested to ensure there was no testing error.

The area needs more tech jobs and other sectors to diverse it's economy, not rely so much on retirees and weather. Attract more talent, and increase its tax base to cover for infrastructure improvements would help the quad cities be a successful alternative to Phoenix and Tucson in my opinion.

Prescott Valley is growing very fast. Lots of new housing going up. I noticed traffic is heavier, but still not bad as we don't have a rush hour yet. Many retired people throughout the country want to move here. I think the housing costs have gone up as it is simply a result of supply and demand. I would rather people with money move here than people that don't have money. It's good for the community. You can get cheaper housing in Mayer or Paulden. Sedona is an hour away from my house at the country club in Dewey. Sedona should be visited during the week and early in the morning as the traffic is horrendous. The motorcycling in the area is great as well. Road or dirt bikes, the whole area has it all. Flagstaff and Phoenix are about the same distance away. Prescott Valley has many Antelope and you see them frequently while driving. It also has a nice dog park and many nice parks throughout the city. The library is very nice and modern.

Looking forward to the video on downtown, since frankly, it's where 99% of the youth in the area spend all their time. Definitely not a town where young people are exactly swarmed with things to do on a daily basis so maybe that's something you know about or can touch on. Good video and subscribed for more! Following the discovery by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) of two PFAS chemicals, perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) in two City wells in the airport area in early July, which were immediately turned off, the City requested that ADEQ sample the additional City production wells located in Chino Valley. At the same time, the City employed an independent lab to test all City water production wells. Those results have come back, resulting in barely detectable levels of PFOA in three of four operational Chino Valley wells and detectable levels of PFOS and PFOA in Airport Well No. 5. PFAS were not detected in Chino Valley Well No. 4, Airport Well No. 2, and Airport Well No. 3. Consequently, Airport Well No. 5 will remain off-line. Since Airport Well No. 3 came back as non-detectable for the chemicals, it will be placed back into service. Since PFAS were detected for the first time in 3 of 4 Chino Valley wells, City staff will make operational changes to minimize levels of PFAS in city potable water supplies by turning off Well Nos. 3 and 5 and blending water from Well Nos. 2 and 4 before sending it to customers. It is expected that this blending plan will result in non-detectable levels of PFAS in city potable water supplies.
