One thing that's never mentioned is that the best suspension set up for solid axles for any type of driving (rock crawling to daily driver) is when the control arms (long or short) are parallel with the ground (which allows the smallest horizontal movement of the axles when the suspension is compressed or extended). Same for the drag link bar from the steering box and the track bar for centering the vehicle over the suspension to minimize bump steer. For the short arms, drop brackets simulate long control arms (where the center of rotation is located further towards the rear of the vehicle).

I was very indecisive about 4 link vs 3 link when I went with long arms. I was very sold on the Evo kit for a while. At the end I did a DIY 3 link front and rear. Very happy with my choice. I understand the risks but for years Rock Krawler tested it on trails harder than I’m doing with my rig, so I’m very confident it’ll be great for years.

Glad you noted Synergy. It only took 10 minutes talking to Dave about metallurgy and suspension geometry to see he knows his stuff and to be totally sold on Synergy. I’ve been running their bolt-on Longarm for a few years now and it is solid. Excellent road manners and outstanding rock-crawling performance.

I am running a 3.5" Teraflex lift on my JT and love the ride I get from the drop brackets! I was also able to keep my stock arms for now, but in the not too distant future, will be ordering the Teraflex long arm kit.

Is there any point to, let’s just say EVO long arm kit without going coilovers? Or is there a lift height that would take advantage of the long arms VS just staying short arms?
