Pros and Cons of working at a small company as a developer

Being a software engineer at a small company is completely different than being a software engineer at a larger company...in some cases. One experience isn't "better" than the other, it's just different 🤷🏾‍♀️
I have had experiences at both but for this video I'm going over what it's like being a software engineer at a small company.
Let's go over the pros and cons of 4 topics I have found are different when working at a small company

💁🏾‍♀️ Who Am I:
Greetings, my name is Tiffany! I have been a Software Engineer since 2017. I have mostly focused on backend engineering specifically using PHP/Laravel and MySQL. I enjoy the journey of learning, contributing to making a better product and working with a great team.
I first learned about code back in 2009 but didn’t really understand the entire tech field at the time. Later on, I decided to join a coding bootcamp called Coding Dojo, to improve my tech skills - It definitely was the best decision for me! It was a long journey and I started documenting my journey via youtube.

I never thought about the needs changing while you're mid-project! Ngl my projects are my babies so I'd be so disappointed😅 Great video!!

I am a young black female and I've been working for a small company for five years now. You hit the nail right on the head with this one. Especially with the needs changing mid-project and lack of structure. I started right out of college and I do love the people that I work with. I am the only developer at the company so my workload can get pretty hectic and there were so many times I had to just 'dive in'. So stressful especially as a entry level developer but I've grown into my own routine and have settled into things. I've never worked at a bigger company but ngl would like the whole structure aspect. Only thing that irks me about my job is the pay.

Thanks for watching! I can imagine that's pretty hectic with being the only dev. Kudos to you for managing it all! 👏It sounds like you deserve a raise or bonus.
