Goodmeetings: Goodmeetings offers a platform for companies to enhance customer meetings. It records and transcribes video meetings, creating a searchable library. AI generates meeting summaries and suggests actionable topics. It compiles key moments for quick review. Currently for sales and customer calls, it could expand to internal meetings. Founded in 2020, Bengaluru-based Goodmeetings raised $1.7M in Pre-Series A funding from Chiratae Ventures.
Stable Diffusion: The Stable Diffusion API offers stable diffusion as a service, allowing users to generate images using various models for free. While the free version has slower image generation without GPU priority, paid plans are available for faster results. Enterprise solutions with dedicated resources are also offered, including text-to-speech AI capabilities.
Hiresure.ai: Hiresure, an AI solution, addresses employee hiring and retention challenges. It utilizes real-time data to determine competitive pay ranges, aiding companies in making accurate offers for hiring and promotions. Founded in Bengaluru, Hiresure secured a $2.5M seed funding in Feb 2023 from Y Combinator and Three State Capital after participating in YC's Summer 2022 batch.
EatX: EatX, a computer vision firm, accelerates restaurant service by emulating efficient practices of top restaurants, reminiscent of McDonald's speed-oriented kitchen model from the 1950s. Utilizing AI, EatX enhances kitchen efficiency in Bengaluru-based restaurants by monitoring staff behavior, ingredient use, and employee productivity. Founded by entrepreneur Sandeep Medarametla in 2022.
Vitra.ai: Bengaluru-based startup vitra.ai, part of Google for Startups Accelerator in India 2023, transcribes and translates videos into various languages. Creator praises its utility, showcasing translations from Hindi to Kannada to Marathi. The platform covers over 75 languages, including Afrikaans, Arabic, and more.
Nintee: Nintee, an AI startup by Paras Chopra, founder of Wingify, is developing a Discord-based AI personal assistant named Nintee. The AI is trained on podcasts to offer guidance in health, wealth, and wisdom. With $2.5M funding from VCs and angels, the remote Indian team is behind this initiative.
Machinehack: MachineHack Generative AI, a Bengaluru-based startup, fills the AI education gap by hosting hackathons, AI competitions, and courses. It offers enterprise solutions for hiring based on users' skill-level data. Their product Datalyze aids AI-powered dataset exploration. The quirky logo features a space monkey with a speargun. It sells "shovels" to aid in the AI gold rush.
Rephrase.ai: Bengaluru-based startup rephrase.ai leverages AI and deepfake technology to revolutionize celebrity advertising. They craft tailored ads for social media by manipulating a single celebrity video. Their clientele includes major brands like Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, and Cadbury. Founded in 2018, the startup has garnered $12 million in funding, notably a $10.6 million Series A in 2022.
Minus Zero: Minus Zero has developed India's first autonomous vehicle, the zPod, primarily as a tech showcase. Though production isn't the main focus, funding is crucial due to a lack of revenue. With a recent $1.7M fundraise in 2022 and the potential for more investment, Minus Zero could dominate India's self-driving sector.
Karya: Karya, a non-profit based in Bengaluru, is gaining recognition for collecting and selling audio data from rural Indian users to train AI models. Users record native language text, earning around 400 to 1.24 lakh rupees, benefiting rural communities. Karya's unique approach grants workers ownership of their data, attracting clients like IIT Madras, Microsoft, and MIT. Founded in 2021, Karya has paid over 6.5 crore rupees to 30,000 Indian individuals, contributing to the $17 billion projected global AI data market by 2030.

But his second statement is very interesting : "and it's your job to try anyways". I think he was saying that as a ceo he has to discourage competition and as a researcher he is telling you to try it even if its hopeless.

Sam was very direct in answering to that question (typical techie) and was responding to building foundational models within 10mn (limited budget). He knows the works and money goes behind the foundational models and world knows gpt 3 iteration but no one has clues on how the gtp was working in its initial stages of iteration and efforts/money they have spent to make it this accurate. Nowadays sadly our people get offended without understanding the context , i think majority of indian audience is better suited for politically correct people than straight forward ones.

Even after almost a century of transfer of power, which was false claimed as independence to fool d public and Balkanize it, it’s still alive and thriving. People who work on AI or have knowledge about AI does have clue on how GPT works. What SAM claimed is actually rude. Indian govt. can manage few million for AI training if they want to. And you may find the leading team behind GPT research is built with mostly Indian and Chinese people. So, yeah, India really has the capability to build such a model.

@@someonewholovesmath4105 i hope that will be true some time in future , but this type of hitech projects are not meant for indian gov to be funded as there is no direct benefits for larger indian audience, it needs to supported by private companies (tbh they are more concerned about quarter margins and balance sheets than putting billions in r&d ).When it comes to indian people going abroad/indian ethnic people making such amazing innovation abroad not in india , it begs a question why in US not in india? where are we lacking , not providing enough money ,environment,R&D money, eco system, ? Indian are smart and hard working no question on that ,but we are not leading innovators in modern times barely adopters of technology that was invented outside india and much blame goes to education system which is just rat race to secure admission in top colleges and hefty pay packages and not promoting innovation.

All these startups sound amazing. I am not sure if they can get as big as we expect to be. Mainly, the target customers are in tier 1 cities and their number is limited, as already covered by this channel. First, we need to rebalance the wealth among the low earning segments and provide social security. To compare with USA and considering purchase power parity, most people have extra money to explore some new services/products which can lead such startups to next level. In India, that rarepy happens.

Sam is not wrong. Training these models require huge compute, which is expensive. I am from India myself currently working in SV as an AI founder... the infrastructure for training is so crazy here.. most Indian companies are using already trained models as API's. I deeply believe in Indian innovation, the current path is unsustainable with the funding volumes of the west. We should do it differently.

I am a startup and I can tell you that one man can run so far, two men can try relay, but for a proper product and company, there needs investments. The start up and other things are more marketing than actual funding. The lack of investments are holding many start ups. Most investors are risk averse and they just try to give reasoning instead of investing. Also most investors want something which is completely revolutionary, not present anywhere in the world, developed product, tried and tested and sold to customers and have some revenues and then this investors will come and invest say 5 cr and then get 50Cr next year and then 500Cr next and 5000 Cr next and then exit with selling to some other VC or IPO. Unfortunately there are no investors who are happy with say 20 to 25% returns. I am pretty sure that if investors help setup 5000 companies in India and run for 5 to 10 years, atleast 10% of them will turn out to be the one of the topmost companies in the world.

It is not impossible for India to make something like the latest advances Nvidia AI supercomputer computer. However, it would require a significant investment in research and development, as well as access to the latest technology. India does have the talent and resources to do this, but it would take time and effort. In the meantime, India may need to buy these supercomputers from Taiwan. Taiwan is a major manufacturer of semiconductors, which are essential components of supercomputers. India has been trying to reduce its reliance on imports from Taiwan, but it is not yet self-sufficient in this area. Here are some of the challenges India faces in developing its own AI supercomputers: * Lack of funding: Developing an AI supercomputer is a costly endeavor. India would need to invest billions of dollars in research and development. * Lack of talent: India does not have a large pool of experts in AI and high-performance computing. It would need to train and recruit more scientists and engineers. * Lack of access to technology: India does not have access to all of the latest technology needed to develop AI supercomputers. It would need to form partnerships with foreign companies or develop its own technology. Despite these challenges, India is committed to developing its own AI supercomputers. The government has set up a National Supercomputing Mission to achieve this goal. The mission aims to build a network of supercomputers across India and to train scientists and engineers in AI and high-performance computing. It is likely that India will need to buy AI supercomputers from Taiwan in the near future. However, the country is making progress in developing its own capabilities. With time and investment, India will be able to build its own world-class AI supercomputers.

Ya, bro but take time. 😥😥😥😥 If time should take then India should make more powerful than LLM models. Because we already know much about preexisting LLM models on top of that based on Research and Development why not make them more intense and powerful than existing ones.

I think you have taken sams statement our of context which he later clarified so the question was that if 3 people can build a tool like chat gpt and sam said no 3 people cant build it which is true by the time you build a prod ready application there will already be competitor's and even if you did who will do the QA or fix bugs , scope out features, etc. There is a lot going on behind the scenes when developing a software product and 3 people cant ensure the quality of it

Tbh I think the whole trend of ppl creating this India vs USA thing in tech is just going out of context just because Altman made some crack remark once. Truth is even today majority skilled engineers prefer working for tech companies in the US. Young engineering grads still prefer going to the US for pursuing their MS coz they think they're not skilled enough despite holding a BE or BTech.

India’s biggest startup is a company that sells 1 lakh rupee courses to tier 3 people by trapping them into loan which shows the level, India has a looooong way to go. People say oh India has billions of people using internet which frankly doesn’t matter if 90% of them are poor and only 10% of these people buy. Ask those companies that are spending 10 rupees in ads to earn back 1 rupee.

This guy is the sample of western racism and incompetence. This guy has never created anything in his life, but is jumping here to do propaganda against 1.4 billion people , by telling lies. America is built ONLY by hi-skilled immigrants from India and couple of other countries. Not a single white American there is educated or even have a basic math skills, just like this Ryan green creature. White Americans just live of social security - paid by Indian-americans tax, and spam social media.
