I think the pros vastly out do the cons. I've had three dachshunds so far.

I have had 8 of them and the only thing I regretted was that could not live long enough. I still have two I f them left and want to get another because my two are 16 and 17 years old. I would never do anything different.

Quute seriously back issues. for yiu and your dog . Yours will be from consantly picking up the cutie for hugs n kisses . For them its quite seriously being mishandled by people . They are tenacious by nature. which means most peoples reaction is to hit or kick. also if they want something. they mean to have it. think it through. go through your entire house. on your hands and knees to get a pov. check for escape routes. behind iver and below all objects. Appliances desks beds etc etc .gates. please measure the space that you want to close off . as my brother told me. measure twice cut once. If for any reason . your new family member.. will be allowed on the furniture. use mini stairs to help your pup for this. consisetncy is key.so thst your pup understands the boundries . If you do it right. when people come over they'll sit on the floor. the pup gets the couch . Quite seroisly my dog loved people and cars. i thought easy right? the dam dog got car sick in the back . my true friends never minded sitting in the back. due to the dog. its kind of like a filter for social gathering.. then . watch the children. make sure everbody knows your pup is not a slinky. Another good filter fir friends . After all that. let the family enjoy ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤
