    Would I be able to split this particular set up to run my fire pit and gas grill of off one tank? What would I use? And of course I'd be using a larger propane tank, 40lb - 100lb.

    I need some help trying to get some bigger flames here. I’m using a 5 gal propane tank with 12’ x 1/2” hose, 18” ring, 1/2” mixer and a high pressure regulator. Any ideas?

    What about connecting to an existing tank 60 feet away. A big tank 100 gallons or something. I got flex copper lines that are free. They have a valve on them right now. Can I connect a regulator rated for my fire pit to that flex copper (its either 1/2ID or 5/8 O/D) and from the regulator run a propane line another thirty feet to my fire pit? Also theres a grill that needs to be hooked up to the same line.

    If there’s enough clearance underneath/inside a DIY fire pit, are there any safety concerns with putting the tank directly underneath the burner.

    Some burners do need an air mixer. The burners we prefer, which are the Crossfire models, do not need an air mixer. There's an air mixing valve at each jet.

    Where can I find that quick connect fitting? Or what is the psi rating on that quick connect fitting? I can’t find anything with a high enough psi rating for a fire pit. Even the dormont doesn’t rate them to handle high enough psi.

    I'm getting a fire pit table with separate small propane tank. Can I bury the 10 foot hose that comes with it under my patio pavers so I can hide the hose? No chance it will be dug in to under there but not sure how the hose will hold up under ground.

    Doesn't get hot under the plate. You can put the flex line wherever you'd like. If you're lighting with a lighter, make sure the key is close enough to the burner so you can light it easily.

    How long would a 20 lb propane tank last with that set up?

  • @danburch9989

    @danburch9989

    3 жыл бұрын

    20 lb propane contains about 433,000 BTUs. This burner consumes 160,000 BTUs/hr at max. So, 433,000 / 160,000 = 2.7 hrs approximately. Longer burn time and lower flame setting.

    Been told, by a local company, that I cannot put a 15 foot extension cable on my 20 pound propane tank , to my fire pit .. Basically, the propane won't push that far .. Can you comment if this is valid, and if there is a workaround.. I basically don't want to have the tank, so close to my fire.. Thanks

  • @Montanafirepits

    @Montanafirepits

    Edward Pinsent that is accurate. Small 20lb tanks aren’t really sufficient for our burners. Expect about 10’ max and 120,000 BYU’s with a small tank.

    If your not getting a big flame could it be to much fire glass ?

  • @Montanafirepits

    George Gonzalez yes. Sometimes too much glass can reduce the flame, but really, “fuel equals flame” as a general rule

    Hard to watch this video, keeps buffering. Also the quick connect makes no sense. It is disconnecting after the regulator, so unless your other tank is all setup with a regulator, gauge, shutoff, and receiver for the quick connect, this does not allow you to be able to switch your tanks quickly.

  • @danburch9989

    Good point - thinking the same thing. He has to remove everything from the tank to get it refilled - only the tank valve should remain for refilling.

    3/8 into 1/2 inch is not reducing...and I see no value at all to the quick disconnect, unless you have two tanks side by side and are in some kind of extreme hurry... Still, I like your video....

    Why no air mixer?

  • @Montanafirepits

    @Montanafirepits

    With Crossfire burners, there's no air mixer needed because each jet has air intake tuned to the fuel type for max efficiency and flame height
