Propane Pipe Burner for Firepit
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
We made a tabletop concrete fire pit with a propane pipe burner. This propane burner can be used for barbecues and tabletop fire pits and for both cooking, ambiance, and heat. If you want to check out the concrete tabletop fire pit build that we used our propane pipe burner for, you can see it here: • Concrete Tabletop Fire... .
MATERIALS
1- Variable Pressure Regulator - amzn.to/2xHBw9Q
1 - 3/8" Flare x 1/4" - amzn.to/3awyCBU
1 - 3/8" to 1/4" Reducer - amzn.to/2XXiCqa
1 - 3/8" pipe nipple, 1 1/2" inch long - amzn.to/3cCav6o
1 - 3/8" pipe nipple 2 1/2 " long - amzn.to/2VrNU6D
1 - 3/8" coupling - amzn.to/2wYpg4e
1 - 3/8" T fitting - amzn.to/3eKEx9N
2 - 3/8" black pipe 5 1/2" long - amzn.to/3eGFHTH
2 - 3/8" End Caps - amzn.to/3cEyim9
Air Mixing Valve - amzn.to/2xRttXZ I didn't use one because I couldn't find one that was small enough for my burner but if your making a larger fire pit burner I'd suggest picking one of these up. The mixing valve will help you get bigger flames and a cleaner burn from your fire pit burner.

For LP (propane) you will want an air mixer installed right where the line goes into the burner. This is safer with LP and will help burn cleaner and reduce soot deposits. You will not need an air mixer with natural gas. Good Video

ahhh thanks Ryan was stoked to hear that !!
Thanks. This is genius. Just made 2 crematorium booths for upcoming VAIDS epidemic. We tested it out on grandma and there was nothing left but her titanium hip!
Good info. Use a drill press vise to hold the pipe when drilling.
This one was pretty good, thanks!
thanks man. That was cool dude.
Great video
I already bought half inch pipe for this. No issue I hope. Nice short, to the point vid!

For a bigger flame the hole can be 3/32" or 1/8"
Great video. you should use a air mixing venturi with propane as a fuel source. This will insure proper combustion, otherwise you can risk pooling up some unburned gas in the bottom of your pit and create a fireball which wouldn't be great when your kids are roasting marshmallows.
You make it look nice and easy!! Wish you were my neighbor 😉

This was the trick to the “Burning Bush”, which Moses learned from a similar DIY KZread video.
LOVE the video. I am trying to make a propane gas burner to start the fire in my fire pit 36" circular. Would this work? Like a home fireplace with NG to start it. Comments and Ideas Please!! Thank you
He burnt his hair off with that first pipe lol just kidding
Great info! Thank you! I assume that this would also work with Natural gas. Yes?
So this doesn’t even need venturi EFFEFT , so is simple😅
Thanks for this video. Very much what I'm looking for and Not a forge burner. Apparently this burns without a Venturi ? I need this type of low heat flame to kill mites from grooved boards 8"x 8". I have the regulator for a forge burner, but the blue flame is too hot.
Great video. I’m wondering where did you get that concrete block, and where do you get the decorative rocks at? Thank you.

First great video, really liked it, nice burner, . i have a question? can i use longer pipes on each end of the T so i have like 5 feet on one side and 5 on the other for a longer 10 foot fire table. should i use less holes drilled so the gas will get to the ends of the pipes. i bought the air mixer and 20 pound hose and regulator you recommended , . . . . and would it work if it was one long 10 foot stick gas pipe and propane tank just on the end instead of the middle with a TEE.

This is trial and error, but simple. RULE #1 DRILL SMALLER AND LESS HOLES THAN YOU THINK YOU NEED! You can easily enlarge them or add more! Due to the low flow velocity, if it's is unlikely that you will experience a signficant drop in a 5' pipe, for 10' that is small dia, see rule #1.
How long can I make the pipe without running into gas distribution problem? I'm trying to make letter and words!
So question - this is safe ? Nothing needed but a regulator at tank side ?
Nice, does that have a air mixture valve on it ?
The Teflon tape is not necessary. The burner is literally full of holes and therefore won't hold any pressure.
Is it the same recipe for natural gas?
when you say you couldnt find a mixing valve that would fit the burner, do you mean thread size or...???
Just about to build a burner. What's the purpose of the holes in end caps and T. Thx great video.

Same question! is it just to prevent build up?
Are there any safety issues with this. Can the fire travel back into the cylinder somehow and blast the cylinder?
Great video! Definitely gonna try to adapt this to what I need. But what I need is a burner for a DIY pizza oven (traditional done type) - any tips on making a pizza oven burner?
Man make fire. It good.
A right angle pipe / adapter on the underside would be far more convenient and space-saving. Otherwise, nice build!
excuse my ignorance! I dont know how propane burners work, how safe is this? could the flame not back up? I have a bbq for camping that I LOVE but... the burner is toast and there are no replacements.
End product is a slight of hand switch to a fire pan and commercial burner lol
I need 2 of these on a larger scale .. 2, 60 inch pipes … is this possible?
Can ya make this a 3 or 4 burners 4 ft EACH?
Would this same setup work for natural gas?
Where’s Heidi?
You need to buy some gas nozzles and it's perfect. Otherwise it chucks out far too much soot.
Will this work with natural gas?
Where was the pan from
Was funny, think hes learned to be ready to light running propane and keep it away FROM YOURE Face and body, lol
Why no air mixer? Every other diy and commercial unit has one?
What is the block ?? Is it a breeze block??
Why no air intake hole?
What’s the max length for a 20 lb lost tank

Did you just use a straight fitting into the black iron pipe? Typically for propane it should be mixed with oxygen before ignition. I ask because I was going to make one, and I was looking into where I could find a Venturi fitting

Hey Justan ya I actually went out and bought an air mixing valve on Amazon linked to it in the description above if your interested is seeing it. The problem I ran into was the burner is so small that it won't work properly. It basically just spits out propane where it should be sucking in air. The one I had was for a 1/2 inch pipe. Which would be fine for a large fire pit but not so good for this small burner application. Anyone else able to find a smaller mixing valve online ?

@@TimberTea Curious about this... I was planning on doing the same project and also using a 1/2 inch mixing valve. Obvious question, but the mixing valve is directional. Are you sure its not installed backwards?
@ThomasWeissJr
3 жыл бұрын
@@periclestsellos6746 you should look into a venturi (not air mixing valve) so you can adjust the mixture to fine tune the flame. good plan here for next to nothing. www.rayrogers.com/venturi.htm
Wow that's awesome! How is it holding up?
Why didn’t you add an air mixer to propane line?
Hi , why you don't use orifice?

At my local big box hardware stores they have black pipe and galvanized. Does it matter which one I use?
@neipamocal

Use black pipe. At high temperature the zinc coating on galvanized pipe will give off toxic fumes.

@@neipamocal won't black pipe rust?
@neipamocal
3 жыл бұрын
@@chriss8354 everything will rust after being exposed to heat like that, even stainless steel. Black iron pipe would take years to rust if cared for properly. A simple cover to keep the rain off when not in use and you'd be set. But the gas given off by burning zinc can kill you.
My at home propane indoor fireplace only has a narrow small flame. And I want the flame to be more spread out. The place i got it from, woodland direct, is no help at all.
Hmm might not want that tank so close to flame. One small leak on a hose and that could have been a bad day.

Your burning way to rich on propane, your flame's should be blue not yellow.
this isn't safe no pilot no safeguards any idiot could have done this.
