    I’m really looking forward to Hoya spartioides being in production (if it grows out fast enough for it?) it’s one of my favorite Hoyas and so tricky to find for a good price.

    Haven't even watched the video, but the thumbnail (?correct term?) Is absolutely where it's at. That woman has the most genuine smile. 10/10 !! I thought it could be contagious. Previous comments say different. 😉

    I really loved this. I'm pretty new to hoya and I still treat them so delicately. lol - this video showed me that probably isn't neccessary.

    When I started this hobby, I almost went with Hoya. Part of me was glad I didn't because there are TONNES of Hoyas and they're oh so beautiful! I would forever be finding ways to fit them all in my house. 😅

    @@monsteratreehouse It is an aroid. Just that I cannot handle too many of them due to space. And Hoya has SOOOO many beautiful types. Would be a problem to curb myself buying most or many of the types 😅

    @@mhzplantingaroids no, Hoya is not an aroid. They're in Apocynacae family, while aroid / Araceae is different family on it self. The easiest way to know which plants belong in the same family is to see the similaritiy on the flowers.

    I have a Hoya that was propagated from a plant my mother had when I was growing up in the 50s-60s, a cutting off a cutting actually. It's an heirloom and blooms for me every summer. How can I determine its variety?

    Wait-so nothing will grow from Hoya clippings that don’t have a node!? I know you need a node when propagating philodendrons, pothos, etc. but I thought different of Hoyas. I’ve taken many a clippings of my Hoyas & thought since the clippings put out roots all along the stem when in water, I didn’t need to keep a node with each one.😮Put if I plant those cuttings without a node in soil- they won’t take?

  • @dewantoroo

    @dewantoroo

    Жыл бұрын

    I think you need a node to grow a new plant. Unfortunately I don't think you can get a new plant just from internodal cutting with roots.... you can try but I'm 99% sure it won't give you a new plant.

    It would’ve been nice to show some close-ups of the actual cut, the actual bundle and the actual placement in the soil. The video went by so fast. I could not really tell what she was doing.

  • @dewantoroo

    @dewantoroo

    It would be nice indeed. But i think this video isn't "how to video" necessarily. She already got few videos on hoya care and how to propagate them. I also feel like this is not "planned" video like the other steve's leaves ones, they just saw her doing her work and asked if it's okay to filmed it. I think that's why they got the Ryan guy to be in the video as well, so they don't really disturb her workflow.

    Sorry Summer couldn't watch your video as the background music was driving me crazy. I watch alot of videos and alot have unnecessary background music that is repetitive and just plain annoying so you are the only one.

  • @dewantoroo

    @dewantoroo

    Жыл бұрын

    I think she only put background music video at the start and at the end of video. And maybe when there's B-roll shots. It's so rare for her to add background music when people are talking. Even if she did, the music volume is way low compare to the talking. In my opinion, those music are important to give a mood on the video. But if it's bothering you that's okay, she can't please everybody right?
